Pi Wallet can now view real-time smart contract activity

Pi's core team has launched smart contract visibility in the Pi Wallet on Testnet, allowing ordinary users to directly view contract execution on mobile devices for the first time. The update has been launched on Pi Test.com, and Pioneer users can use the test.com currency Test-Pi to observe smart contract operations.

Starting from August 27, smart contracts can be viewed in the Pi Network Test Network wallet to display relevant functions of BNPi, a booking application built based on the network, in real time.

The

testnet activity demonstrated two specific functions: server_auto_release (automatic server release) and release_booking_eject (release reservation hosting). Under this mechanism, funds enter custody at the time of booking and are automatically released to the landlord after the guest checks in.

This move marks the first time that retail users, rather than just developers, will be able to observe the execution of contract logic directly in the wallet interface.

Agreement 27 Mainnet upgrade target date is September 15

The testnet visibility update is part of a broader infrastructure push ahead of a major milestone for the network. Protocol 27 introduces more flexible and secure smart contract authentication capabilities to enable more advanced transaction authorization for accounts and applications on the Pi blockchain. The agreement is currently deployed on the Pi test network, and the main network upgrade target date is September 15, 2026.

Pi Network began deploying Protocol 27 to Test Network 1 on August 21, and the main network upgrade target date is September 15, 2026. The protocol adds more flexible and secure smart contract authentication capabilities and prepares the infrastructure for RPC servers, decentralized exchange capabilities, and automated market maker liquidity pools.

The testing work will be carried out first on Test Network 1 and then on Test Network 2, and then main network deployment is planned.

This step-by-step deployment follows the pattern that Pi Networks will maintain throughout 2026, with each protocol version built on top of the previous version. Protocol 26 completed a major upgrade focusing on contract security and interoperability as a prelude to the last planned update.

For pioneer users, wallet-level visibility of smart contract functionality is a concrete signal that the network infrastructure is maturing. Whether the September 15 deadline can be met as scheduled and the speed with which developers can build practical applications on it will be the next test for the project.
