Tether expands tokenization platform Hadron to the Asia-Pacific region
Tether is setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific region to accelerate its real-world asset (RWA) tokenization layout. Jed Nazif has joined the company as a token business development manager.
Nazif announced this move on LinkedIn, saying that it will focus on promoting RWA-related projects and help expand Tether's tokenization platform Hadron in the Asia-Pacific region. "I am looking forward to promoting the RWA initiative and Tether's tokenization platform Hadron in the Asia-Pacific region," he said.
The appointment comes as Tether continues to expand beyond its core stablecoin business and is committed to building an infrastructure to bring traditional assets into the blockchain.
Who is Nazif, head of Tether's tokenization business?
Hadron was launched by Tether in 2024 to help institutions issue and manage tokenized assets throughout the life cycle. The platform supports the tokenization of assets such as stocks, bonds, commodities, funds and points, and provides tools such as KYC (Know Your Customers), blockchain reporting, capital market management, and regulatory guidance.
Tether has been steadily adding institutional-level application scenarios to the platform. Earlier this month, the company announced a partnership with First Data and BKN301 to use Hadron to tokenize institutional real estate in Saudi Arabia. First Data will serve as the issuer and primary market operator, while Hadron will provide the underlying infrastructure for issuance, management and life cycle management. Today, this expansion has extended to the Asia-Pacific region, where Nazif will be responsible for exploring new opportunities related to tokenization of real-world assets.
Tether's expansion of Hadron
is also accompanied by the overall growth of Tether's digital asset business. The company reported that as of the end of the second quarter of 2026, USD issuance was approximately US$184.6 billion, and net profit for the quarter was US$1.5 billion. Hadron is becoming an increasingly important strategic component of Tether in addition to USD.
The company has added compliance infrastructure to the platform through partnerships with companies such as Chainalysis and Crystal Intelligence. Tether said the integrations are designed to provide transaction monitoring, anti-money laundering screening and the tools other institutions need to enter the tokenized market.
For Nazif, this new role puts him at the heart of the expansion plan, and the Asia-Pacific region is one of the areas where tokenization is receiving increasing attention among financial institutions. In addition, the Asia-Pacific region provides Tether with vast market space, ranging from mature financial centers to emerging economies that are exploring blockchain capital market infrastructure.
Tether's recent actions suggest that Hadron is no longer just positioned as a tokenized product, but is gradually becoming the infrastructure for institutions to issue, manage and ultimately settle tokenized real-world assets. Nazif's appointment adds a new dimension to this strategy. As Tether expands Hadron deployments in multiple regions and enters asset areas such as real estate, expansion in the Asia-Pacific region may be an important next step in the company's development of tokenization into a larger institutional business.
