What analysts call "Base beats Arbitrum in this cycle" is based on this data, which is also intuitively reflected in the original TVL gap between Base and Polygon.

What drives the growth of USDC supply on Base?
USDC supply on Base remains the single largest factor driving the chain's base, accounting for 84.5% of all tracked stablecoins. Coinbase provides a channel for fiat currencies to connect directly to Base, allowing users to transfer USDC directly from their exchange accounts, and is widely regarded as a key driver of the growth of the Base ecosystem in 2026. In addition, the Coinbase Base L2 network recorded US$635.23 million in DEX transaction volume in 24 hours, led mainly by the deployment of Aerodrome, Morpho and Uniswap on the chain.
