Following花旗与Coinbase深化合作，推出两大新产品打通法币与稳定币壁垒
周日，花旗银行（Citi）与加密货币交易所Coinbase宣布扩大合作伙伴关系，推出两款旨在帮助企业无需构建独立基础设施即可在稳定币与传统美元之间自由转换的新产品。花旗是全球最大的银行之一，每日处理约6万亿美元的支付业务；而Coinbase（纳斯达克代码：COIN）则是美国最大的加密货币交易所。
稳定币是一种与美元等传统货币挂钩的数字代币，广泛用于支付和跨境资金转移。
双产品架构：一座连接桥梁
第一款产品名为“Coinbase虚拟账户”（Coinbase Virtual Accounts），利用花旗的“银行即服务”（Banking-as-a-Service）基础设施，为Coinbase的支付客户提供类似银行账户的功能。企业可以通过该账户接收、持有和支付资金，且 incoming 的美元会自动转换为稳定币。该公司将此功能描述为行业首创。
The second product is built through Citi's merchant platform "Spring by Citi" and operates in the opposite direction. It allows Citi's institutional customers to accept stablecoin payments at checkout, and Coinbase handles matters related to the crypto asset side. As a bank of record, Citi will automatically convert stablecoins into U.S. dollars and complete settlement. Merchants do not need to directly hold, host or manage digital assets. According to both parties, this feature is expected to serve more than 150 million stablecoin holders around the world.
Both products were first launched in the U.S. market.
What is the significance of this cooperation?
The collaboration addresses a practical pain point: Companies that want to operate in both traditional finance and cryptocurrency sectors now need to build and manage separate systems for each area. Citi's partnership with Coinbase handles the conversion process at the middle level, allowing customers from both sides to trade without worrying about which clearing channel is used at the bottom level.
Brett Tejpaul, head of institutional business at Coinbase, said: "Citi is the regulated banking partner that the digital asset economy needs to move from the experimental phase to daily commercial applications."
The deal is part of Citi's broader digital asset infrastructure layout, which includes its recently launched $24/7 clearing service and Citi Token Services for real-time cross-border payments. Citibank serves 90% of top e-commerce companies and 15 of the world's 20 largest financial technology companies.
