Key Points

Cryptocurrency clearing helps data center investment

The company sold about 100 bitcoins to accelerate the construction of its Michigan artificial intelligence data center.

After announcing its cryptocurrency clearing strategy, GUS shares rose 5.50%.

has received a new Bitcoin secured credit line with expected interest rates between 4.5% and 5%.

Long-term revenue prospects for Michigan computing facilities

A 20-megawatt major computing services agreement is expected to generate potential revenue of more than $1.2 billion.

An additional 32-megawatt expansion option could push the cumulative contract value to more than US$3 billion.

Utilize remaining digital assets to obtain secured credit lines

Hyperscale Data (GPUS) shares rose 5.50% to $0.1208 after recovering from early declines in the session. The rise stems from the company's announcement of plans to liquidate Bitcoin assets to fund its artificial intelligence data center facility in Michigan. This strategic shift reallocates company funds for major infrastructure investments associated with signed computing contracts.

Cryptocurrency clearing drives data center investment

Hyperscale Data sold approximately 100 bitcoins, and the proceeds will be used directly to expand its Michigan facility. Although the company did not disclose specific trading hours and execution prices, based on Thursday's valuation of Bitcoin of $64,823, the transaction generated approximately $6.48 million in capital.

According to recent disclosures, the company holds approximately US$71 million worth of Bitcoin through continued mining operations and strategic accumulation. Management said it plans to maintain a balance between cryptocurrency reserves and capital deployment for high-yield infrastructure projects. As a result, Hyperscale Data retains significant exposure to digital assets while also funding construction activities and equipment purchases.

Funds from liquidation will be used to purchase equipment, prepare site and purchase critical infrastructure components with long delivery times. These capital deployments directly supported a partnership with a well-known cloud infrastructure operator. Management expects the funding to accelerate development and expand operational computing capabilities at the Michigan base.

Long-term revenue prospects for Michigan computing facilities

The basic services contract covers approximately 20 megawatts of critical computing infrastructure on the Michigan campus. The ten-year agreement includes two additional five-year renewal options. With a full renewal, cumulative revenue is expected to exceed $1.2 billion.

The signatories are entitled to an additional 32 MW of computing capacity. The expansion clause must be exercised within the first 24 months after the contract takes effect. If a customer activates this option and continues to use the service throughout all available renewal periods, the total contract value could climb to more than $3 billion over the longest period.

Company executives described the park as a cornerstone infrastructure plan designed to establish a predictable revenue stream. The company expects the facility to achieve stable cash generation through Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) products. The Bitcoin conversion provides immediate project financing while avoiding diluting shareholder equity through the issuance of new shares.

Use remaining digital assets to obtain secured credit lines

While selling Bitcoin, Hyperscale Data also arranged a credit line backed by cryptocurrency to support ongoing construction needs. This financing structure is characterized by an expected variable interest rate of between 4.5% and 5.0%. The arrangement allows the company to use its remaining Bitcoin reserves as collateral for additional borrowing and construction financing needs.

This financial framework provides Hyperscale Data with a way to obtain non-dilutive capital at relatively favorable expected interest rates. This approach reduces reliance on equity financing or more costly traditional debt instruments. As a result, management can retain a large amount of cryptocurrency holdings in company funds while minimizing shareholder dilution.

This financing approach is similar to the recent shift in money management strategies of a number of listed bitcoin-holding companies seeking infrastructure growth. MARA Holdings liquidated 15,133 bitcoins in March, generating approximately $1.1 billion in funds. Hyperscale Data plans to continue to optimize its balance between cryptocurrency reserves, mortgage borrowing capabilities and infrastructure capital needs throughout the park's development phase.
