Software engineer to XRP scams

Software engineers ask XRP skeptics: Do you still think this is a scam?

Vincent Van Code asked XRP skeptics a soul-piercing question. The well-known software engineer and XRP enthusiast challenges those who still call XRP a scam: Do you still adhere to this stance after a series of recent incidents?

He pressed further, questioning whether critics believed the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the president and the Senate were also involved in the alleged scam. The remarks directly responded to Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse's description of the August 19 White House Crypto Summit.

Summit to change the landscape

The August 19 summit brought together President Trump, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, CFTC Chairman Michael Selig, and leaders of the largest crypto and financial institutions in the United States. Garinhaus attended the meeting as a representative of Ripple and XRP.

The President called on Congress to pass the CLARITY Act as a key measure to ensure that the United States remains ahead of the global competition. SEC Chairman Atkins has proposed a new crypto financing proposal that includes a $75 million annual exemption for digital asset financing. Just the day before, the Ministry of Finance had just released its stablecoin regulatory framework.

In addition, Ripple has now joined the CFTC's newly formed Innovation Advisory Committee, alongside Coinbase, Chainlink and Gemini. The committee held its first public meeting on the same day, covering topics such as crypto regulation, forecasting markets and artificial intelligence.

Vincent Van Coord wrote on social media: "Do you still think so to all those who have been saying that XRP is a scam token created by the founder of Ripple? I guess you also feel that the SEC, CFTC, the president and the Senate are involved?"

XRP's Position in the Regulatory System

XRP has been under legal pressure for years. Ripple's lawsuit against the SEC defines most of the asset's history over the past decade. The regulatory environment Van Coord now cites is proof of the legitimacy of XRP, which Ripple fought hard to achieve. The company's inclusion in both the summit and advisory committee marks a shift in the relationship between Ripple and U.S. regulators.

There are currently 67 million Americans holding cryptocurrencies. The number cited by Garinhaus means that nearly a quarter of U.S. citizens are involved in encryption. Van Coord's post reflects the sentiments of the group-who believe this level of institutional involvement is the most direct response to years of questioning.

Questions from the Community

Despite Van Coord's firm stance, there are still many people in the community who are critical. One commentator said all were involved in the alleged scam and accused them of "delusion." Another commentator called them "scammers" and insisted it was a coordinated conspiracy.

However, this post also received some community support. Many people regard the development trajectory of XRP after regulatory clarity as evidence that the "scam theory" is self-defeating.
