Key Points
Ripple (XRP) is currently trading at approximately US$1.32, a daily decline of 3% and a weekly decline of 7%.
Geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran are putting pressure on risk-sensitive digital assets.
U.S. exchange-traded funds focused on XRP attracted $14 million on Tuesday, bringing cumulative total inflows to $1.68 billion.
The total transaction volume of XRP books exceeded 3 billion milestones, while online transaction volume soared by 200%.
The key support area is near US$1.22, with upper resistance at the 200-day exponential moving average (approximately US$1.35).
Market Overview
Ripple (XRP) is currently trading at US$1.32 and is currently in a correction after a staggering 72% increase from US$1.00 to US$1.70 in August. As market participants take profits and run out of momentum, prices are looking for new buying interest.
The broader cryptocurrency ecosystem is also facing resistance. Bitcoin has fallen below the $77000 mark, while Ethereum is hovering below $2400. The escalating geopolitical friction between the United States and Iran has pushed up crude oil prices and strengthened market expectations for the Fed's more aggressive policy stance, creating a challenging macro environment for speculative investment.
The Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has dropped to 63 from 69 yesterday. If market sentiment continues to deteriorate, XRP could fall below the psychological level of $1.30.
However, institutional funds continue to flow into XRP investment products. U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded a net inflow of $14 million on Tuesday, up from $6 million on Monday. The cumulative total inflow has reached US$1.68 billion, and the average net assets are US$1.44 billion.
Ripple performed its regular monthly escrow operation, releasing 1 billion XRP tokens, and subsequently returning 700 million XRP to locked storage. Although this is a predictable supply management mechanism, it often attracts market attention during periods of weak prices.
Internet fundamentals remain strong
Blockchain indicators are in sharp contrast to spot market performance. The XRP ledger has accumulated more than 3 billion transactions. Although prices have cooled, the transaction volume on the chain has increased by an astonishing 200%. Open interest in futures increased slightly to 2.29 billion XRPs.
Technical analysis shows that XRP is trading below its 200-day exponential moving average (US$1.35), which has shifted into upper resistance. The relative strength index is close to 55, indicating that the upward momentum has weakened, while the MACD indicator has returned to negative territory.
Key levels for traders
Downward support is concentrated near the 50-day and 100-day index moving averages, around the US$1.22 region. If the daily closing price confirms to fall below this region, it indicates that buyer confidence has weakened. On the upside, resistance is at $1.35, followed by $1.40.
Market analyst XRP Update pointed out that price movements are consolidating near long-term trend line support. The analyst observed that if the support area remains solid and XRP successfully breaks through downward resistance, a move towards $2.00 or higher may be achieved, and emphasized that confirmation of a breakthrough is crucial.
Total XRP ledger transaction volume has exceeded 3 billion milestones, and on-chain activity has surged 200%, although spot prices remain limited to US$1.32.
