LINK returns to its high at the beginning of the year: Double driving by institutional cooperation and ETF capital inflows

The price of Chainlink (LINK) tokens has rebounded to its highest level since the beginning of this year, successfully breaking through the US$12 mark, erasing the sideways volatility of the past few months.

Returns to January highs

LINK last traded at $12 in January 2026. In the following months, affected by fluctuations in the overall crypto market, the token price fell, hovering in the range of $8 to $10 most of the time. Today, this consolidation range has been completely broken.

According to CoinGecko data, LINK has risen nearly 50% in the past 30 days, soaring from approximately US$8.30 to nearly US$12.50, followed by partial profit-taking. The daily chart shows LINK entering a bullish pennant consolidated pattern after rising about 50%, a pattern that traders typically interpret as a signal of a continuation of the trend.

Chart-based technical analysis target prices are $12,$15.50,$20 and $27, respectively, but the realization of these targets depends on the persistence of buying pressure.

Bottomline partnership promotes the listing of more than 600 banks.

The market has regained confidence in LINK, mainly due to important institutional developments. As one of the top providers of Swift services, Bottomline has partnered with Chainlink to provide blockchain-based cross-border settlement services to its more than 600 bank customers.

Bottomline, owned by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, manages more than $16 trillion in payments annually, and approximately 15% of international cross-border transactions on the Swift network are conducted through its platform. Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) allows different blockchains to communicate with traditional systems, which is critical for financial institutions that want to use blockchain without being locked into a single chain. Banks using the service can access blockchain settlements without replacing existing messaging systems.

This deal is also in line with Chainlink's broader strategic layout. Its "Project Pangea" project has connected more than 50 banks in Europe and South Korea, which together manage more than US$10 trillion in assets.

Further boosting the rally, Charles Schwab announced the addition of LINK to its cryptocurrency platform, as well as SOL and AVAX, providing retail investors with a new way to obtain the token through major U.S. brokerages. In addition, spot ETF products linked to LINK recorded positive net inflows continuously in the first four weeks ended August 24, 2026, and the cumulative net inflow has exceeded US$145 million.

With the expansion of institutional adoption and the implementation of landmark banking partnerships, LINK's return to year-round highs no longer looks like a simple rebound, but a revaluation of its real-world usefulness.
