Cryptocurrency researcher SMQKE reiterated a key point about XRP that penetrated the noise surrounding the asset. He drew attention to a post he posted in late 2025 in which he wrote: "XRP prices are driven by practicality, not hype." This argument is based on a simple economic foundation. The total supply of XRP is fixed at 100 billion units, and no additional shares can be issued. As Ripple adoption expands, so does demand. The combination of the two points out the direction for the price of XRP.
How XRP generates organic demand
SMQKE cited a Ripple Labs document called "XRP Requirements Analysis" to support his views. The document identifies two core functions that give XRP true utility: cybersecurity, and its role as a bridge currency.
In terms of security, the Ripple Network charges a small amount of XRP to prevent spam attacks. Each account must hold a certain amount of reserve. This value has changed over the years and dropped to 1XRP in December 2024. In addition, a very small amount of XRP is permanently destroyed for each transaction. This mechanism removes speculative pressure from the demand equation. Regardless of price sentiment, users need to hold tokens to participate in the network.
The function of bridge money is equally important. As the Ripple protocol becomes more widely used in payment channels, the demand for XRP as a settlement layer also increases. The more transactions there are, the greater the demand for the assets that facilitate those transactions.
Ripple's business model relies on XRP appreciation
Ripple Labs 'document clarifies its business logic. SMQKE highlighted a key paragraph demonstrating Ripple Labs 'business model: The business is "based on the belief that if the Ripple protocol is widely adopted, demand for XRP will increase (and thus prices will increase)." This is not a speculative bet, but a clearly stated business position of the company working with the agreement. Ripple's commercial success is closely linked to the price trend of XRP. The adoption of the Ripple protocol by a wider range of institutions will directly translate into higher demand for XRP.
Long-term Price Outlook
SMQKE's view is that increased adoption of the Ripple protocol directly translates into higher demand for XRP and drives long-term price increases. Supporting data in the document reinforce this conclusion. There are currently more than 99.9 billion XRPs, but a small number of tokens are permanently destroyed for each transaction. Supply decreases over time, and demand grows as adoption expands. Reserve requirements ensure that each new user brings basic needs to the network. Ripple continues to expand its payment infrastructure globally. Every new partnership and every new payment channel will increase the transaction volume of the network. These trading volumes directly translate into demand drivers identified by SMQKE and contribute to future price increases.
