AAVE rebounded above the key moving average and buyers targeted the $100 resistance level.
Protocol upgrades remove low-usage assets and simplify blockchain deployment.
Bulls need to break through US$97.63 to confirm that upward momentum is strengthening.
Aave (AAVE) is again in the spotlight after major protocol updates and technical signal improvements. Buyers entered the market after recent declines, helping the token recover above important support levels. At the same time, Aave announced plans to streamline supported asset and blockchain deployments. The decision reflects a stronger focus on efficiency. Now, traders are watching to see whether growing momentum can push AAVE towards the psychological barrier of $100 resistance.
Aave restructuring strengthens focus, buyers hold on support
AAVE is trading close to $97.47, having rebounded from a sharp correction towards the $96 area. The token recorded a slight increase in the latest four-hour period and buyers returned to the market. Although the recovery is still in its early stages, recent price movements suggest that selling pressure has begun to ease. The latest catalyst comes from an important agreement announcement. Aave founder Stani Kulechov confirmed plans to reduce support for several low-utilization asset reserves after a comprehensive market review.
The agreement will gradually remove about 50 reserves that generate limited activity in supporting markets. The reorganization also extends to blockchain deployments. Aave plans to phase out operations on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync and Aptos. Overall, the update affected 25 asset reserves spread across four blockchain networks. The decision allows developers to focus resources on stronger and more active markets. Another planned change involves Pendle principal token assets. Expired PT assets will be withdrawn from the support market and replaced with a new version with an updated expiration date. This adjustment helps maintain more relevant lending opportunities while improving overall agreement efficiency. The announcement demonstrates a strategy that focuses on long-term sustainability rather than simply expansion. Investors are often positive about such decisions because greater efficiency can improve network performance and resource allocation over time.
Technical aspects keep $100 close
From a technical perspective, AAVE continues to stay above several important moving averages. The token is trading at a price above the 50-period indexed moving average (approximately $96.56). Prices also remained above the 100-cycle exponential moving average (approximately $95.00) and the 200-cycle exponential moving average (approximately $91.95). Together, these levels form a strong support foundation below current prices.
The immediate challenge is near the 20-cycle exponential moving average, at approximately $97.63. Buyers must regain that level to target resistance around $98.50. Successfully breaking these two obstacles could open the way to the important $100 level. Kinetic indicators also indicate that the situation has begun to improve. The stochastic relative strength index recently entered the oversold area and turned higher. Current readings suggest sellers have begun to lose momentum after pushing previous declines. Although this signal is encouraging, it still needs to be confirmed through stronger buying activity and higher trading volume.
However, derivatives data reveal a more cautious picture.
