Key Points
ETH narrowed within the four-hour interval.
The high of $2550 remains the key resistance level.
Upward support remains near current prices.
RSI forms a hidden bullish divergence.
A four-hour close will provide the clearest signal.
Pause below recent highs
Gains slowed after ETH rebounded from about $1900 to the $2550 region. Since then, the four-hour chart has formed a narrowed range. Recent rallies have encountered downward resistance lines, and each correction has stopped at a higher level than the previous one.
Ethereum prices were consolidating below resistance, with a bullish divergence on the four-hour chart. This pattern is similar to a flag-shaped consolidation, but the label should be inferior to the price level itself. If a few more candle lines appear, the shape of the interval may change. The key question is whether ETH can close out of range and remain at that position.
As of writing, ETH was trading close to $2470, while the decline boundary was near $2,490 - 2,510. This is a dynamic level that continues to move downward as the range develops. Above this line is near the August high of $2550.
Resistance, support and 50-cycle moving average
The four-hour closing price breaks through the downtrend line, which will indicate that the bulls have regained control of the current range. If the price steps back on this line after a breakthrough, the next test opportunity will be provided. If prices can stabilize above this line, the rally will be more convincing; if prices quickly fall back into range, it will show that sellers are still active.
The rising support line is at the middle of $2400 on the chart and rises with each new candle line. ETH needs to hold this line to maintain its current form. If the closing price falls below this line, the focus will shift to the $2400 area.
The 50-cycle simple moving average is around $2325. ETH is still above that moving average, which keeps the four-hour trend upward. If the price moves closer to this moving average, it means a larger correction in the current range and should be handled accordingly.
RSI provides auxiliary signals
ETH forms a series of higher lows. During the same period, the RSI reached a lower low. This combination is called hidden bullish divergences and usually occurs during the pause phase of an uptrend.
This signal supports the view that the trend continues, but cannot alone establish a price target or confirm a breakthrough. The RSI has also fallen back from its initial highs. The analysis should focus more on price and volume factors.
Possible changes in the short-term perspective
Bullish confirmation:
ETH closed above the upper trend line on the four-hour chart and held the area during backtests. At this time, the band high of $2549 will become the next resistance level.
Bear warning:
ETH closed below rising support and cannot be recovered. The $2400 area will become the first nearby level to be concerned. If the sell-off continues, 50-cycle SMA around $2325 will become important.
Weak breakthrough:
ETH broke through resistance amid sluggish trading volume and then quickly fell back into range. This trend suggests that the first breakthrough failed to attract continued buying.
Chart levels are not automatic entry points
The four-hour interval provides a useful reference point, but does not determine the final result. The direction of Bitcoin, broader market liquidity and sudden clearing activity could all quickly affect ETH.
Breakthrough levels are an observation point, not an automatic entry signal. Anyone who uses leveraged trading should decide in advance how much they can bear if the trend fails. Short-term fluctuations within this range are sufficient to trigger the liquidation of highly leveraged positions.
