Ethereum price pattern: VanEck's long-term forecast reaches US$11,800, and short-term traders are concerned about US$2,540 breaking through
Ethereum (ETH) has recently traded around US$2,470. According to VanEck's long-term benchmark scenario, the asset is expected to reach $11,800 by 2030, while short-term traders are closely watching the $2,540 breakthrough point.
Core Points
- Ethereum prices fluctuate between support at $2,380 and resistance at $2,600.
- VanEck's long-term model shows ETH valued at US$11,800 by 2030; another model cited in the report predicts it will reach US$14,135 by 2031.
- More than 116,000 ETH (worth approximately US$300 million) reportedly left the exchange in the past 48 hours, which may have reduced the immediate supply of selling pressure.
Ethereum Price Trend Analysis
Ethereum has fallen from its recent high of nearly US$2,550 and is currently consolidating around US$2,470. Analysts pointed out that if the weekly closing price stabilizes above US$2,540, it will enhance the market's motivation to move towards US$2,700 and even subsequent US$3,000.
The level of downside risks is equally clear. If it breaks below the key support of $2,380, ETH may retest the low range of $2,300; and continued shocks between support and resistance will leave the market lacking a clear direction for confirmation. Until one of the barriers is broken, the price trend of Ethereum will remain range-bound.
It is worth noting that in the past 48 hours, approximately 116,000 ETH (worth approximately US$300 million) have been moved off the exchange. This move is often interpreted by traders as a signal that selling pressure is decreasing in the short term.
Institutional and analyst forecasts diverge
VanEck's Matthew Sigel has built a long-term value framework for Ethereum based on factors such as fee income, pledge income, Layer-2 expansion solutions, and wider institutional use of smart contracts. Under its company's benchmark scenario, these drivers could push ETH prices to $11,800 by 2030.
In contrast, crypto analyst Jacob Crypto Bury takes a more cautious view. "I think $11,800 is still high for Ethereum," he wrote. He pointed out that a price range of $7,000 to $8,000 looks more realistic and that the exact results will depend on statistical factors.
Thereport also cited another independent model that predicted ETH would reach US$14,135 by 2031. In addition,Tom Lee has also called for a price target of more than $10,000 in 2027 or 2028. Although these forecasts differ in time points and assumptions, their common basis is the expansion of Ethereum's economic role, rather than relying solely on price momentum. No prediction is absolutely certain.
Overall, Ethereum's current real-time chart movements are far less eye-catching than those long-term goals. ETH recently hit around $2,550 and fell back to around $2,470, putting the market between the bottom support line of $2,380 and the resistance area of $2,535 to $2,600.
