XRP The defeat of the CLARITY Act put pressure on XRP, but the data on the necklace is eye-catching.
As the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, XRP prices have previously suffered heavy selling pressure. However, an interesting on-chain development is providing a different perspective on the recent performance of tokens.
According to data shared by Sanitation, despite recent market turmoil, the number of XRPL addresses holding at least 1 million XRPs remains at a high level. Significant growth in XRP before its strong rise in August was recorded on the same indicator. While the data does not guarantee another recovery, it raises an important question: Are large XRP holders still holding on to their positions while the broader market struggles?
85 new million-dollar XRP wallets appear before rebound in August
Sanitation's latest chart shows that 85 new addresses holding at least 1 million XRPs appeared in the two days before the token rose 67% between August 17 and August 21.
The analysis platform points out that due to the huge number of XRPs controlled by these large wallets, they have a considerable impact on market liquidity.
This time point of growth is particularly interesting. The surge in the number of million-level XRP addresses occurred before the price increase began, rather than simply following the increase in XRP prices.
However, the increase in the number of large wallets does not necessarily mean that 85 new investors have entered the market. Existing holders can reallocate their coins among multiple addresses, and exchanges and escrow wallets can also affect this metric.
