XRP Volatility Shares extends the effective date of its planned 3 x XRP ETF to October, but it is not officially issued.
Volatility Shares further postponed the effective date of its planned 3 x XRP ETF to October, providing XRP traders with another date to watch, but this does not mean that the fund has been confirmed to go public. A regulatory document filed on September 18 designated October 18, 2026 as a new effective date for the fund's registration statement. Crucially, the document clearly stated that its sole purpose was to delay the effectiveness of the previous amendment covering the 3x XRP ETF, and did not mention that the ETF would begin trading on October 18.
This difference is crucial because XRP's ETF market is already crowded, with a large number of existing spot and leveraged products, and the filing date can easily be mistaken for an issuance announcement. The fact that Volatility Shares has currently launched the XRPT 2x XRP ETF in addition to the standard XRP ETF suggests that the proposed 3x product will be an extension of its existing leveraged product line rather than the company's first foray into the XRP space.
3X XRP ETF may push up risk again
The proposed fund is more aggressive than existing leveraged XRP products in the market. The 3x ETF is designed to track approximately three times XRP's daily performance, rather than cumulative returns over weeks or months. Due to the daily reset mechanism, compound interest effects can produce completely different results over longer periods, especially when XRP prices fluctuate significantly.
