Zcash

Since most public ZEC tokens are reposed in transparent addresses, Zakura has also developed a private lookup tool to address the privacy risks faced by users managing multiple addresses. The tool allows wallets to verify balances without revealing the associated address to the query server.
The experimental private lookup feature available in the Vizor wallet allows users to check balances at multiple addresses while protecting privacy and preventing address chaining, even though their payment records are still publicly visible.
The tool helps prevent server-side address associations by using a method called Private Information Retrieval, which ensures that database queries do not expose which records are being accessed.
Small Dictionary: Private Information Retrieval -An encryption protocol that allows users to retrieve records from a database without revealing which record are being accessed, thereby protecting queries from being linked to specific data holders.
Zcash's network is divided into transparent payment pools and blocked payment pools. Although blocking payments completely hides the sender, recipient and amount, transparent transactions are similar to Bitcoin, displaying all transaction details on the blockchain.
CoinDesk's analysis of ZecStats data showed that of the 16.98 million ZECs issued as of Thursday, about 11.96 million-or about seven out of ten coins-were in transparent addresses. The upcoming quantum-resistant upgrades will focus on this public side of the network.
Wallet approves transactions using private keys and network authentication using corresponding public keys. Normally, reversing the public key to obtain the secret key is computationally impossible, but experts warn that emerging quantum and AI-powered technologies could change this assumption. [TAG
Shielding pools and future plans
Although January's upgrade will focus primarily on transparent addresses, shielding pools require separate anti-quantum protection R & D efforts. The industry fears that if adversaries collect encrypted payment histories today, they could eventually decrypt the data if a cryptographic breakthrough occurs in the future.
The Zcash community and its developers are now prioritizing privacy-enhanced and upgraded cryptography to address the evolving risks in the digital asset space.
