Bons 对 XRPL 闭源修复方案的质疑

Bons 'views are not limited to this temporary closed-source patch. He believes that XRPL is similar to a "Proof-of-Authority" system because servers often rely on Recommended Unique Node Lists (UNLs) published by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation.
The XRPL documentation confirms that UNL determines which validators a single server trusts. The high degree of overlap between these lists is critical to maintaining consensus and reducing the risk of incompatible ledger histories.
However, calling XRPL a fully licensed network oversimplifies its architecture. Anyone can operate the XRPL validator, server operators can choose the validator they trust, and Ripple cannot independently approve network-wide amendments.
The broader debate about validator control also touches on the fact that Ripple itself only operates a validator on a commonly used recommendation list.
