Ethereum returns to US$1800, and the U.S. spot ETF has net inflow for three consecutive days! Where does this new wave of impetus come from?
Ethereum has surged about 10% in the past seven days, briefly breaking the $1800 mark for the first time in weeks. This bullish trend accelerated on June 28 after the ETH net active buying volume indicator turned positive. This signal shows that buyer activity in the perpetual futures market has exceeded seller pressure for the first time in recent times.
Leverage failed to ignite the rally
A significant feature of this price jump is that the volume of open interest has not changed significantly. This suggests that the rally was not driven by excessive leverage in the market. In fact, after falling in June, it is estimated that leverage did not rebound significantly. Sustained price movements without aggressive leverage point to a healthier market pattern, lower risk of cascading liquidations, and a more balanced trading environment. [TAG
Meanwhile, the ETH Coinbase Premium Index, which measures US-driven demand, remains in negative territory. However, the index has recovered from a deep low hit in early July, suggesting that US investor interest is gradually returning.
US-listed spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded net inflows for three consecutive trading days. Although the inflow is small, it marks a steady recovery in institutional participation. The spot Ethereum ETF provides direct exposure to ETH and is traded in a manner similar to stocks on a regulated exchange.
The fact that U.S. spot ETH funds have achieved net inflows for three consecutive trading days suggests that institutional interest has not yet completely subsided and that cautious buying continues in these channels.
$1,806: Key technical resistance in the short term
From a technical perspective, Ethereum currently faces a major resistance level of $1,806, where the 50-day exponential moving average coincides with the horizontal ceiling. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is 57, indicating positive momentum but not yet entering overbought territory. However, the stochastic oscillator indicator is close to 86, suggesting that price movements may face short-term exhaustion.
If Ethereum breaks through $1,806, subsequent targets will point to $1,909 and $1,970 near the 100th EMA. Above that,$2,018 and $2,108 are considered the next resistance level. On the downside, immediate support is at $1,741 and $1,713, the latter corresponding to the 20-day EMA.
Indicators: main resistance $1,806; upside targets $1,909,$1,970,$2,018,$2,108; first support $1,741 and $1,713.
Crypto analyst Daan Crypto Trades pointed out that Ethereum\'s weekly and partial daily lines once again closed within the broader trading range of $1,750 to $2,400. In his view, breaking through local highs around $1,850 may mark a shift in the market structure, laying a solid foundation for further gains.
According to Daan Crypto Trades, breaking the $1,850 level could trigger structural changes in the market and potentially create conditions for the upper edge of the test range.
Vitalik Buterin proposes the vision of \"Streamlining Ethereum\"
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin launched the \"Streamlining Ethereum\" plan-a comprehensive transformation blueprint for the future of the web. Buterin described the plan as the third major evolutionary leap for Ethereum and compared its scope and impact to the \"merger\" event.
The roadmap is expected to be rolled out in the next three to four years and covers changes in verification mechanisms, consensus architecture, privacy features, quantum resistance and client infrastructure. Buterin\'s goals include using recursive STARK for verification while striving to achieve finality within one or two consensus rounds.
The most fundamental change will be reflected in the state model. By 2030, Buterin envisions Ethereum will maintain its current 2TB of dynamic state data, but migrate to a redesigned 100TB architecture to increase efficiency-particularly for ERC20 tokens and NFTs. According to his prediction, modifying the ERC20 based on UTXO ideas could reduce transaction costs by more than 10 times.
Mini Glossary: STARK is a cryptographic technology that can prove the validity of transactions without disclosing the underlying data. UTXO is a model that tracks asset balances through independent expendable outputs rather than account-based records.
