Core blockchain DEX activity surged by more than 700%
In the past week, activity on the CoreDAO blockchain has become a hot topic, and the latest on-chain data further strengthens this discussion. According to DefiLlama data, the trading volume of the Core chain decentralized exchanges soared by more than 700%, with weekly trading volume exceeding US$100,000, and nearly 10,000 active accounts were recorded within 24 hours.
These data suggest that user engagement on the network has risen sharply. At the same time, decentralized exchanges as a whole are accounting for a larger share of cryptocurrency trading activity. In July 2026, DEX spot trading volume has reached approximately 24% of CEX trading volume, the highest level since records began in 2019. Core's rise is part of this general trend, but the percentage increase in trading volume on the chain is particularly prominent even in the overall context.
The broader ecosystem drives
CoreDAO to manage the Core blockchain, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 chain that combines Bitcoin security with smart contract capabilities through the Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism (which combines elements of proof of work and delegated proof of stake). This architecture enables the network to become the foundation of Bitcoin DeFi (BTCFi), allowing Bitcoin holders to gain on-chain revenue and trading capabilities without relying on centralized intermediaries.
Every part of the Core 2026 roadmap serves the same goal: Bitcoin activity must generate revenue, and those revenue will drive $CORE buybacks. The macro shift in 2026 is to shift from displaying revenue to converting revenue into revenue. Growth in DEX transaction volume directly fits this model, as higher on-chain activities generate transaction fees that ultimately flow back into the ecosystem.
Core's rewards mainly come from two channels: the fixed block reward plan and transaction fees generated by on-chain activities. Together, these two form the Core consensus reward pool, which is allocated to users who maintain network security through Bitcoin pledges,$CORE pledges, and Bitcoin mining contributions, thus forming a virtuous cycle: Bitcoin DeFi activity drives rewards, and rewards attract more Bitcoin.
Whether the current surge in trading volume is a sustained momentum or a short-term pulse remains to be seen. But as weekly trading volumes climb and active accounts increase, the CoreDAO ecosystem is attracting increasing attention at a time when the broader DeFi market is also on the rise.
