Bitcoin sales exceeded production, and mining economic benefits improved significantly in August. CleanSpark's mining of bitcoins increased in August, but its holdings decreased due to sales. Construction of the Soundsville data center continues to advance, with related contract revenue reaching US$6.6 billion.

Overview of Bitcoin Mining Data for August

CleanSpark mined a total of 593 bitcoins in August 2026, an increase from 586 in July. The company released this updated report on September 8.

The Las Vegas-based company achieved an average daily production of 19.12 bitcoins in August, with a peak single-day production of 20.40 bitcoins. The total year-to-date production has now reached 4,903 pieces.

In August, CleanSpark's average running power was 38.3 Ehashes per second (EH/s), slightly lower than July's 38.6 EH/s. As of August 31, the total number of equipment deployed by the company was 201,269 units.

Bitcoin sales exceed production

In August, CleanSpark sold a total of 821 bitcoins. These include: 77 bitcoins sold at spot prices, 500 bitcoins sold through the exercise of call options, and 244 bitcoins associated with Delta neutral basis transactions.

The company reports an average selling price of US$65,420 per Bitcoin. This figure includes net income and premiums, not just spot market prices.

CleanSpark's Bitcoin holdings fell as sales exceeded production. The company's Bitcoin holdings at the end of August were 13,703, down from 13,931 at the end of July. Of these positions, 3,951 bitcoins (approximately 29%) were used as collateral or listed as receivables, all of which were related to derivative transactions.

Mining economics improve in August

In August, Bitcoin mining profitability improved, mainly at the end of the month, when Bitcoin prices climbed.

Hashprice (a measure of miners 'income per unit of computing power) closed at US$31.63 per beat of hash per day (PH/s) at the beginning of the month and at US$39.33 at the end of the month, with a monthly average of US$34.63. According to Luxor, this is the highest monthly Hashprice since May 2026.

CleanSpark's maximum fleet efficiency is 16.07 joules per terahash (TH/s). At this efficiency, the break-even point for the electricity bill alone is about 9 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Luxor estimates that fleets at this efficiency level earned about US$87 per megawatt hour (MWh) in August, before deducting other costs. Industry average electricity costs are estimated to be close to $48 per megawatt hour.

CleanSpark does not disclose its own electricity prices or the overall average efficiency of the fleet, so its exact profit margin for the month is not fully known.

The company's most recent quarterly earnings report covers the period ending June 30. It reported that Bitcoin mining revenue was US$138 million, but due to factors such as Bitcoin fair value loss, the overall net loss was US$239 million.

Data Center Project Progress

CleanSpark has also updated its data center project. Construction of the park in Sandsville, Georgia is continuing, with contract revenue associated with the project reaching US$6.6 billion.

In Texas, ERCOT issued zero-lot classification permits for contract base load capacity of 585 MW and research load capacity of 300 MW. The company said it will continue to work with ERCOT and the Texas Public Utilities Commission.

CleanSpark's next production report is expected to be released in early October and will show September production, sales and computing power data.
