South Korea's traditional assets are launched, and Ripple Network becomes the core beneficiary
In order to meet the market demand for faster, cheaper and more transparent digital asset infrastructure, Ripple Network continues to expand globally, positioning XRP as the core settlement asset of global finance. The development follows South Korea's financial regulator, the Financial Services Commission (FSC), announced plans to introduce stocks, bonds and funds to a larger blockchain infrastructure, with Ripple's name taking the lead.
According to the announcement, regulators want to expand the market scope of securities token issuance (STO) on compliant blockchain infrastructure, and Ripple is expected to become the main beneficiary of the agreement.
South Korea promotes the listing of traditional assets
According to reports, South Korean regulators plan to expand the scope of tokenized securities from specific products such as real estate and music royalties to traditional securities including stocks, bonds and funds, and trade them on blockchain networks. The move marks South Korea is preparing to transition its stock and capital markets to a 24/7 trading model. During this process, Ripple Network has attracted much attention for its in-depth cooperation with South Korean banks and financial institutions.
It is said that the South Korean government plans to launch its tokenized securities market in February 2027. Regulators have developed a phased roadmap aimed at bringing traditional capital assets into blockchain infrastructure. The first phase will start with tokenizing private corporate bonds and money market funds so that they can be circulated on the chain to institutional investors; the second phase will tokenize all publicly issued securities; the third phase plans to tokenize securities by linking them with payment assets such as stablecoins and decentralized finance (DeFi) products to achieve on-chain settlement.
Structural gaps contribute to capital concentration, and XRP advantages highlight
The blockchain network represented by Ripple is regarded as an ideal network that has been long heard about due to its proven results. This is evidenced by Ripple's strong performance in the South Korean market, which has established partnerships with local banks and financial giants.
Recently, the South Korean government approved the integration of XRP Ledger into the country's banking system. Jeonbuk Bank replaced the traditional SWIFT network with the Ripple blockchain to improve cross-border transaction efficiency, which fully proves this point. This is the third cooperation Ripple has reached in the country since the beginning of the year, indicating that its business landscape in the Asia-Pacific region is expanding.
With the Financial Services Commission (FSC) now opening its doors to DeFi, Ripple will become the biggest potential beneficiary given its strong presence in the Korean market. XRP's significant growth in the country stems from institutional gaps and structural flaws. Blockchain's cost-effectiveness, high liquidity and fast transaction speeds have helped Ripple become the network of choice for digital trade. This trend has emerged as financial institutions prioritize using XRP Ledger for cost-effective fast cross-border payments and on-chain transactions.
