ETH Tom Lee predicts that the crypto market will usher in a 12-month bull market, with declining leverage and improving market fundamentals becoming key supports.
Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee predicts that as market leverage decreases and crypto fundamentals continue to improve, investors will usher in a strong 12-month investment cycle. Institutional tokenization and growing demand for artificial intelligence agents are expected to strengthen Ethereum and other blockchain-based financial infrastructure globally.
Deleveraging lays a healthy foundation, fundamentals strengthen against the trend
Lee pointed out that the market deleveraging process in October eliminated excessive borrowing pressure, and the historical pattern of the four-year cycle of cryptocurrencies shows that the market is gradually approaching its critical bottoming stage. These conditions will provide a healthier foundation for Bitcoin, Ethereum and other assets to return to value in the coming months. Lee believes that the recent market rebound is a trend correction rather than a short-term pulse rise led by speculation.
It is worth noting that unlike the previous "encryption winters" characterized by corporate closures and investment declines, the encryption fundamentals have been strengthened during this downturn. The development of tokenized products by major financial institutions and the exploration of blockchain-based settlement systems have kept institutional interest active.
Artificial intelligence drives new demands, and the advantages of programmable payment channels are highlighted
In addition, Lee expects artificial intelligence to become another major source of demand for cryptographic networks and blockchain-based payment systems. Because traditional financial networks often have operational limitations and slow settlement speeds, AI agents may prefer to use programmable cryptographic channels (Crypto Rails) for transactions and processing.

Lee also warned investors not to wait for confirmation that prices have reached an absolute bottom before entering. Conversely, if investors wait for clear signs of recovery to be established, they may enter the market after most of the potential gains have disappeared.
Fundstrat's research shows that the vast majority of gains in the crypto market are concentrated in a very few strong trading days. Lee estimates that if the ten best performing trading days are missed, the overall return on an otherwise profitable investment cycle may turn negative. Therefore, although there may be another correction during the cycle transition, he believes there is still significant room for upside before the end of the year.
Institutional funds chase or accelerate the market's upward trend, but the risk of volatility still exists
If cryptocurrencies perform better than other traditional investment assets such as stocks and bonds, the performance pursuit of institutional funds will further intensify market demand. However, Lee's forecast does not guarantee that the crypto market has established a final bottom or eliminated short-term fluctuations. Factors such as liquidity conditions, regulatory policies, investor position adjustments and global economic development may still affect price movements during the expected recovery period.
Overall, reduced leverage ratios, institutional tokenization, artificial intelligence technology integration and increased adoption rates jointly support Lee's bullish outlook for the crypto market over the next 12 months.
