2026 Cryptocurrency Wealth Report: More than 135,000 crypto millionaires around the world
According to the latest "2026 Cryptocurrency Wealth Report" released by Henley & Partners, global cryptocurrency wealth continues to rise. The advisory firm confirmed that the number of people with high net worth with at least $1 million in digital assets has reached 135,694.
Bitcoin dominates the group of crypto-millionaires
Among these billionaires with huge digital assets, 92,272 are classified as "Bitcoin millionaires." The wealth of this group is mainly attributed to the bitcoin it holds, highlighting the continued dominance of bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, among high-net-worth people.
In addition to millionaires, Heinz Partners also identified 290 large holders of more than US$100 million in cryptocurrencies, 151 of whom had their main investments concentrated in Bitcoin. At the highest level, 23 people have achieved billionaires through cryptocurrency assets, 9 of whom have accumulated their wealth exclusively through Bitcoin.
The report pointed out that as of August 31, the overall market value of cryptocurrencies was approximately US$2.6 trillion, of which Bitcoin accounted for approximately US$1.6 trillion. Despite its overall strong size, bitcoin prices have fallen about 38% from their all-time high in October 2025.
Heinz partners said that although bitcoin prices are still well below previous peaks, the number of global crypto millionaires has hit a record high and continues to rise.

stablecoins are increasingly becoming a tool for cross-border wealth transfer. According to researchers cited by Heinz partners, dollar-backed stablecoins enable the rapid flow of funds between countries, usually in minutes.
In terms of supervision, the authorities are moving towards strengthening supervision. The European Union's Cryptocurrency Markets Regulation (MiCA) will come into full force in December 2024, introducing a unified cryptocurrency regulatory framework for 30 member states.
Looking forward, tax reporting requirements for cryptocurrency wealth are expected to be further strengthened. Seventy-six countries have agreed to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)'s new cryptocurrency information-sharing framework, and the first batch of tax data exchanges between 46 countries will take place in September 2027.
