Draper's reasoning is based on supply and demand. He said that miners will sell newly issued coins to the market as a business act, so cutting block rewards will eliminate continued selling pressure.
He told Chasse: "If oil production is halved, oil prices will rise." I suspect that in response to this situation, we will see Bitcoin prices rise. As we approach the halving point, I think we will see a significant increase."

As of this writing, Bitcoin's block height is 968,284, which is about 82,000 blocks away from halving the 1,050,000 block. Based on the average 10-minute block time, this will fall around April 2028. This estimate will be adjusted as the network computing power (Hashrate) changes.
Why Draper called Apple and Meta "irresponsible"
Draper used the sharpest language about corporate coffers. He said companies that do not hold bitcoin would face risks if their banks fail, and singled out Apple and Meta.
In another interview with Bitcoin Magazine on September 20, he said: "A company the size of Apple only holds US dollars. At a time when there is no end to government spending, this is 'irresponsible' behavior."
Draper said corporate treasurers should hold the equivalent of six months of employees 'salary in Bitcoin, which is an increase from the two to four weeks of payroll he initially believed was sufficient.
