The number of Stellar XLM blockchain accounts exceeds 10 million, but supply is still concentrated.
The Stellar XLM blockchain, which focuses on payments, has exceeded 10 million funded accounts, marking an important milestone in the adoption of the network. This increase has reignited discussions about the actual distribution and accessibility of XLM's positions.
Account growth meets supply concentration
Recent community data shows significant thresholds for XLM holders: wallets holding 1400 XLM rank in the top 4%, holding 5003 XLM rank in the top 2%, 12274 XLM can enter the top 1%, and 112541 XLM is needed to enter the top 0.1%. Independent analysis confirmed that the total number of accounts has far exceeded 10 million, but the vast majority of accounts have extremely low balances, and only a few accounts hold large amounts of funds.
This distribution suggests that at the current market price of about US$0.18, it costs only a few hundred dollars to hold XLM enough to rank among the top 4% of the network. The threshold for reaching the top 1% is still less than $2500-a small amount by mainstream cryptocurrency standards.
Stellar's network architecture allows millions of small accounts to exist, many of which contain only minute balances. Therefore, the percentile threshold for important positions is still very low, and even holding a small number of positions can be among the top, but it cannot bring significant market influence.
Despite the expanding participation, XLM's concentration is still evident at the top level. A few large wallets, some of which are associated with the Stellar Development Foundation, hold a significant proportion of available tokens. This coexistence of extensive account ownership and centralized supply continues to characterize the Stellar ecosystem.
Institutional Trends and Real Asset Expansion
Stellar's user growth comes at a time of increasing institutional engagement. This year, the network's tokenized real assets have exceeded US$3 billion, while stablecoin trading volume hit a record in the second quarter and developer activity has become increasingly active. Stellar has always focused on payment solutions, asset issuance and low-fee settlement, which distinguishes it from the more speculative DeFi-driven blockchains.
After briefly recovering to around $0.22 in mid-August, prices stabilized between $0.17 and $0.19. Market participants are watching whether the expanding user base will eventually translate into long-term demand for XLM, higher transaction volume, and increased institutional adoption.
Currently, a wallet holding 12000 XLM can enter the top 1% of all accounts, but this share has limited weight in the overall market supply, highlighting the coexistence of extensive network ownership and continued concentration.
Reaching the milestone of 10 million funded accounts is a tangible indicator of adoption rates. However, its ultimate impact as a price catalyst will depend on how these new accounts interact with the network in the future.
