Stellar Coin (XLM) approached US$0.172 on September 2 amid weakening momentum, while the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is preparing to launch a tokenization service in October
Highlights:
Stellar Coin (XLM) traded close to US$0.172 after falling back above US$0.20 in late August.
The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to launch its tokenization service in October after completing real-time production transactions in July.
Depository and Trust Company (DTC) tokenized assets are expected to connect to Stellar Network in the first half of 2027.
Stellar Tokenization Schedule
The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to launch its tokenization service in October after using tokenized DTC custody assets to process real-time production transactions in July, advancing the project from the testing phase to a real-market process. The Stellar Network is already included in broader deployment plans.
The Depository and Trust Company (DTC) said in May that its tokenized service will be connected to the Stellar Public Chain, and tokenized DTC assets are expected to appear on the network in the first half of 2027. This time point is very important. This arrangement leaves a gap of several months between the October launch of the service and the planned integration of the Stellar Network, so initial deployments will not immediately place tokenized DTC assets on Stellar Network. July's deal, involving dozens of institutions and testing tokenized assets in production conditions, provides DTCC with more evidence of how blockchain infrastructure can work in concert with existing market systems and how public networks might fit into that model.
XLM Market Outlook
XLM's current market performance is still weaker than its long-term network development prospects. The token rose above $0.20 in late August, and then gradually retracted some of the gains and traded around $0.172 on September 2.
According to TradingView data, technical indicators show limited momentum, the relative strength index on the 14th is close to neutral, the MACD line is below the signal line, and the histogram turns negative again. The current technical form is still weak. These readings do not establish a sustained bearish trend, but suggest that the rally in late August has run out of steam in early September.
Derivatives positions also reflected similar caution, with total open interest falling to $78.6 million last week from approximately $95 million. According to Coinalyze data, the funding rate remains positive at 0.0031, indicating that traders have not clearly turned bearish despite reduced leveraged bets.
The contrast between the upcoming development of the Stellar Network and the current price trend of XLM remains at the core of the market outlook. Prices have partially reversed their August gains. After briefly breaking through US$0.20 in late August, XLM fell back to around US$0.172 on September 2, which kept the token below recent local highs and the market has not yet formed a sustained response to DTCC's long-term integration plan.
