Uniswap Labs purchases PONS tokens, pushing it to a record high

Uniswap Labs has purchased tokens for Robinhood Chain's launch platform PONS. PONS has daily fee revenue of US$5.95 million, and its price has climbed to a new high of more than US$0.52.

Transaction Details and Market Performance

Uniswap Labs said the purchase of PONS was to achieve "long-term strategic synergy," but neither party disclosed the specific size, price or structure of the transaction. Since August 29, Pons has incurred daily fees that exceed the Solana-based pump.fun platform.

Among the networks supported by Uniswap V4, Robinhood Chain contributed US$901.5 million of the total transaction volume of US$1.6 billion, accounting for 56.3%. Affected by this news, PONS prices rose 17.5% to US$0.5013 and hit an all-time high of US$0.5242, and the market value rose to US$357.1 million.

Pons announced on Thursday that Uniswap Labs has purchased $PONS to deepen their long-term partnership. However, the two parties did not disclose the specific number of tokens involved, the payment amount, the time when the transaction occurred and the address where the position was held. In addition, Pons did not clearly state whether Uniswap Labs purchased it through the open market or obtained the allocation quota, a difference that attracted the attention of some users. At the time of disclosure, Uniswap Labs had not issued a detailed statement about the transaction.

According to CoinGecko data, PONS has risen 17.5% in the past 24 hours, dropping as low as $0.3476, before recovering to a high of $0.5242, with turnover reaching $135.2 million. Currently, PONS ranks 118th in cryptocurrencies by market value.

Uniswap V4 Ecological Expansion and Competitive Landscape

This action occurred a day after Binance added PONS and FLORK to the Binance Alpha 1.0 list. Previously, Crypto.news reported that when the exchange announced the addition of these assets, Pons 'daily handling fee had reached US$5.95 million.

Pons went online on July 13 and deployed its V2 contract on August 3, linking graduation tokens directly to the Uniswap V4 liquidity pool. Prior to this, Pons detailed the ETH binding curve model integrated with Uniswap V4, including paying creators in ETH and supporting custom transaction pairs involving tokenized assets.

In this model, tokens are first traded through the binding curve of the launch platform. Once the token "graduates", liquidity will be transferred to Uniswap V4. The V2 plan includes trading pairs that use USDG and tokenized assets such as NVDA, AAPL and HOOD. Since then, Robinhood Chain has become the network with the largest transaction volume in Uniswap V4.

According to DefiLlama data, Uniswap V4 processed US$1.6 billion in cross-chain transactions in the past 24 hours. Among them, Robinhood Chain contributed US$901.5 million (56.3%), followed by Ethereum with US$465.5 million, BNB Chain with US$93.9 million, and Base with US$52.5 million.

The total value (TVL) of Uniswap's deployment on Robinhood Chain reached US$207 million, with handling fees of US$7.72 million incurred in the past day. As a result, Uniswap Labs became one of the token holders for the app, which transfers graduation assets into its V4 pool. Although the size and structure of the position have not yet been disclosed, this marks a further deepening of the relationship between the two parties.

It is worth noting that Uniswap Labs operates another token launch platform, Pools.trade, on the same network. Launched on August 5, the platform allows users to create tokens through crowdfunding or instant launch and route completed launch projects to the Uniswap V4 pool that permanently locks in liquidity. Pools.trade launch tokens are free of charge and only the standard 0.25% liquidity provider fee is charged for transactions.

Although Pools.trade had more launches than Pons on the first day, Pons subsequently took a significant lead in fee generation. As of August 31, Pools.trade's daily handling fee was US$38,553, while Pons V2 reached US$4.89 million. Data shows that Pons incurred fees of $5.95 million,$28.83 million and $40.84 million in the past 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days respectively. Of this, approximately US$1.11 million was retained as agreement income.

Since August 29, Pons 'daily fee income has been higher than Solana's pump.fun. Although Pons briefly fell a month behind in late July, its revenue has recently become a significant part of Robinhood Chain app activity. DefiLlama's latest snapshot shows that Robinhood Chain's app has 24-hour revenue of US$2.66 million, temporarily allowing it to surpass Hyperliquid, Ethereum and Base in this metric. GMGN, Pons and Uniswap together accounted for approximately 93% of application revenue in this snapshot, with Pons accounting for approximately $1.03 million, GMGN accounting for approximately $1.11 million, and Uniswap accounting for $327,700.

The rise of Robinhood Chain and the token economy

Robinhood launched the Ethereum Layer 2 main network based on Arbitrum technology on July 1. Tokenized stocks are a core part of its trading services. The issuance of memoin began in the first week of the Internet, and then the platform was launched to combine memoin and tokenized stocks in the same trading market, providing users with trading pairs denominated in the assets of related listed companies.

Uniswap has become one of the main mobility venues for the event. In August, the cumulative trading volume of tokenized shares through Uniswap on Robinhood Chain exceeded US$1 billion. This figure covers the cumulative swap volume involving multiple stock tokens and does not represent the total amount of tokenized stocks held on the network. The market includes tokens that track companies such as Nvidia, Apple and Alphabet.

At the decentralized exchange level, Robinhood Chain settled US$1.35 billion in trading volume in the past 24 hours. The total value of locked positions rose to US$818.6 million, an intraday increase of 9.1%, and the cyber stablecoin was valued at US$868.5 million. The chain collected US$4.45 million in gas fees and retained revenue of US$4.01 million after deducting Ethereum settlement fees and a 10% share due to Arbitrum.

Trading activity remains concentrated on a few applications and assets. Analysis shows that on August 30, Pons alone contributed $445 million of Robinhood Chain's $874.8 million DEX transaction volume.

In addition, Pons uses a large amount of agreement fees to repurchase its native tokens. According to Pons and DefiLlama, about 80% of the agreement fee is used to purchase PONS. Pons said on Thursday that 29.34% of the total supply had been destroyed. CoinGecko data shows that the circulation supply is 712.1 million PONS, with the maximum supply of 1 billion PONS.

At the same time, Uniswap's native token UNI also recorded a weekly increase, with a trading price of US$6.28, up 7.9% in 24 hours and 36.1% in 7 days, reaching US$3.92 billion. Pons continues to expand markets associated with the Robinhood Chain tokenized stock ecosystem and on Thursday listed a new set of stock token trading pairs, including UPS, SNAP, LULU, PFE and JNJ.
