Clearpool deploys institutional lending framework to XRP Ledger, XRP welcomes new attention
XRP is once again in the spotlight as the decentralized credit protocol Clearpool is introducing its institutional lending framework to XRP Ledger (XRPL). The agreement announced what it called the "next phase of growth," a move that directly connects XRP to the growing wave of institutional revenue products.
Clearpool expands institutional credit infrastructure on XRPL
Clearpool plans to build its lending infrastructure directly on the XRP Ledger network. At the same time, the agreement will migrate its CPOOL token to a new token called CLEAR. New participants will receive CLEAR tokens to provide additional capital, while existing holders can redeem them at a 1:1 ratio.
As a proven network, XRPL still has huge development potential in the institutional credit area. Clearpool aims to provide real-world lending infrastructure online that meets institutional standards, which will make XRP the foundation of a broader credit ecosystem.
This shift is supported by two XRPL standards: Single Asset Vaults and Lending Protocol. Clearpool says these standards provide a native, institutional-level credit track for XRP-based finance. In this system, RLUSD stablecoins will serve as regulated settlement assets.
Ripple supports growth of XRP ecosystem by investing in Clearpool
Ripple has committed investment to help launch revenue products for XRP and RLUSD. This funding strengthens the overall impetus to establish institutional credit on XRPL. Ripple's participation demonstrates its continued confidence in XRP's expanding financial application scenarios.
Previously, Ripple partnered with Cicada Partners and Clearpool to launch an institutional credit fund. The fund will issue loans backed by real-world assets as collateral. The partnership reflects the intention of all parties to coordinate efforts to expand the XRP-based lending market.
Taken together, these initiatives link Clearpool's protocol upgrades to Ripple's broader strategy for XRP. As institutional demand for regulated, blockchain-based credit grows steadily, XRP is now at the heart of this expansion.
CPOOL's migration to CLEAR reshapes token supply
This migration will be accompanied by a complete treasury reorganization. Clearpool pointed out that 99% of CPOOL's supply is already vested and reserves are low, requiring additional resources to fund further development and market adoption.
Under the proposed plan, 70% of the new CLEAR supply will be allocated to existing token holders. The rest will be divided among the ecosystem, treasury and contributors. After the migration, the total supply of CLEAR will increase from 1 billion to 1.125 billion.
It is expected that in the next three years, the supply of CLEAR in circulation will reach 1.428 billion pieces. The buy-back destruction mechanism will use half the agreement fee to purchase and destroy CLEAR. Community members now have fourteen days to express their opinions, after which a snapshot vote will be used to determine the final result.
