Anthropic and RUM reached a US$13.7 billion computing agreement

RUM acquired German cloud computing provider Northern Data through an all-stock transaction in June last year. The valuation is approximately US$767 million, thus officially entering the AI infrastructure field. The acquisition brought approximately 22,000 Nvidia Hopper GPUs to RUM and led to the formation of Quake AI, its AI infrastructure division.

Under the terms of the agreement, Anthropic will use computing resources from its data center facility in Maysville, Georgia, which is still under construction. The site currently has 120 MW of power capacity and plans to expand to 180 MW in the future.

In the arrangement's trading structure, Anthropic received an option to purchase up to 51 million RUM shares at a nominal price of $0.01 per share. This equity component has attracted widespread attention from market participants, who are assessing the impact of the deal on shareholder value.

Quake AI drives revenue expansion

RUM CEO Christopher Pavlovski has publicly stated his vision for Quake AI. Currently, the capacity utilization rate of this business unit has exceeded 85%. Pavlovski said the 250-megawatt infrastructure deployed could generate more than $3 billion in revenue annually.

RUM's latest quarterly results support these ambitious forecasts. The company achieved record revenue of $40.4 million last month, a year-on-year increase of 61%, significantly exceeding Wall Street's consensus forecast of $30.66 million.

Rumble's video platform is gaining traction among conservative users and hosts President Donald Trump's Truth Social content. The platform reported 57 million monthly active users in the second quarter. However, investors 'attention has gradually shifted to Quake AI's growth trajectory.

Shareholder dilution concerns curb gains

As trading progressed, the initial rebound encountered resistance. As investors turned their attention to the company's strategy of acquiring the remaining stake in Northern Data through a new share issue, RUM's share price gave up gains, sparking anxiety among existing shareholders about ownership dilution.

In addition, this correction also reflects the overall weakness in Trump-related investments and profit-taking behavior after RUM rose sharply in August.

The company continues to report net losses and negative cash flow. Given the highly capital-intensive nature of its AI infrastructure expansion, any construction delays or lower-than-expected demand from Anthropic or other customers could strain its financial situation.

RUM's year-to-date return is approximately 13.45%, with an average daily trading volume of approximately 3.54 million shares. Technical indicators currently give the stock a "hold" rating.
