Analysts set a target of $88,000 after Bitcoin broke through the weekly MA50 moving average

Doctor Profit: Bitcoin needs to recover its weekly MA50 and break through the US$82,500 -83,000 range to open a path to US$88,000.

Analyst Doctor Profit pointed out that Bitcoin must recover its weekly 50-day moving average (MA50) and break through the US$82,500 - 83,000 resistance zone to open a rising channel to US$88,000. The analyst views $71,000 as the strongest support reference level, while $78,500 has not yet been confirmed as effective support.

With Bitcoin trading prices below $80,000, the Federal Reserve's September 16 interest rate decision and the September 15 CLARITY Act vote became key market catalysts.

Resistance confirmation versus support distinction

Doctor Profit compared Bitcoin's current chart trend with the recovery in early 2023. He pointed out that Bitcoin tried many times in the early stage to stand firm near the weekly MA50 before achieving a higher breakthrough. As a result, he warned that a single rejection of gains does not necessarily mean the end of the broader recovery.

He emphasized that Bitcoin must regain its weekly MA50 and build a strong position on top of it. In its analytical framework, US$82,500 to US$83,000 is the next major breakthrough area. Once this range is exceeded, it will open the way for Bitcoin to hit $88,000.

However, Doctor Profit emphasized that $78,500 has shifted from resistance to unconfirmed status and has not become a definite support level. He continues to identify $71,000 as the strongest supporting reference point. Although a return to that level is still possible, he said it is not an intended result.

Crypto market dynamics increase market attention

Doctor Profit also discussed the CLARITY Act and the September 15 procedural obstacles it faces. He explained that the vote was intended to advance the bill review process, not final approval. The bill requires 60 votes in support. If it fails to pass, there may still be room for subsequent negotiation.

He expects President Trump to sign the legislation before the end of the year. At the same time, Nasdaq announced a $100 million investment agreement with Payward, Kraken's parent company. Circle also plans to launch the Arc public main network on September 16, with BlackRock, DTCC, Visa and Mastercard all founding verification nodes.

Federal Reserve Resolution Outlook

The Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting from September 15 to 16 will make an interest rate decision on September 16. According to market expectations cited by Doctor Profit, the probability of a 25 basis point rate hike is 85.5%, the probability of keeping interest rates unchanged is 14.5%, and the probability of a rate cut is almost zero.

Doctor Profit said he would prefer to leave interest rates unchanged. He plans to retain his spot position and place conditional long orders at $71,000. Analyst Michael van de Poppe also pointed out that there are still trading opportunities for Bitcoin below $80,000. He added that investors may still view such purchases as profitable opportunities for the next three to five years.
