英国金融行为监管局(FCA)已针对Osborne Baldwin Limited(以Hunter Jones和Hunter Jones Group名义运营)启动高等法院诉讼程序。

Hunter Jones also appeared in the Financial Ombudsman's ruling against Dolphin, a German real estate investment company that later collapsed. The complaint involved an investor named Ms R who invested £ 20,000 in Dolphin loan notes in January 2019 and invested an additional £ 10,000 and previous earnings the following month. These investments then became worthless.

The Ombudsman concluded that Hunter Jones engaged in regulated activities to arrange investments and pointed to problems with the way Dolphin products were promoted. The ruling also found that Hunter Jones should exercise adequate due diligence before promoting and arranging investments. Problems subsequently discovered with Dolphin included missing public financial statements, doubts about the use of investors 'funds, and lack of land mortgages in advertisements.

The ruling only involved individual complaints and did not establish violations of Hunter Jones's current activities.

What is the next step for Hunter Jones and his investors?

The High Court action follows warnings issued by the FCA in November 2025 against Osborne Baldwin, Hunter Jones Group and HJ Collection. Regulators said at the time that the companies might provide or promote financial services without permission. Since then, the warning has been withdrawn due to challenges from relevant companies.

Hunter Jones has previously stated that it markets investment products only to investors who meet the "mature" or "high net worth" criteria and that its business has changed significantly since its time as an authorized representative of EFG. This distinction is crucial because UK regulations allow the promotion of some high-risk investments among certain categories of restricted investors, even if marketing to the mass retail market is prohibited. The FCA has gradually tightened rules, including restrictions on the marketing of speculative minibonds to ordinary retail investors.

The FCA has not disclosed specific Hunter Jones product or transaction details on which the new claim is based, the amount of funds requested to be returned, and the number of customers that may be affected. These details will determine the size of the case. Regulators have now gone beyond issuing consumer warnings and are asking the High Court to stop the alleged activity and order the return of investor funds. Unless the court makes a ruling, these allegations remain unsubstantiated.
