FOMO train is about to depart: 5 tokens traders can take risks for the next pullback of the 2026 alt

Each token on the list has a different catalyst driver behind it-from exchange fee revenue to corporate partnerships, which means their performance is unlikely to fluctuate in sync.

Token unlocking and fund pool decisions, rather than mere market heat, are affecting the short-term sentiment of several of these projects this month. Analysts are increasingly treating such infrastructure tokens as fundamental investment targets, in sharp contrast to the speculative labels commonly used to describe emerging hot tokens.

Discussions about the rotation of altcoins are heating up, while some tokens continue to appear in discussions among traders who believe that these tokens will become the next wave of altcoins and usher in the next phase of the so-called 2026 shantcoins season. None of these projects are brand new, but each has a new narrative this month-possibly a protocol upgrade, a governance change, or, to take the last one as an example, a shift in investor interest.

Some traders are no longer trying to follow a single trend, but are consolidating their own short lists, covering everything from decentralized exchange platforms to synthetic dollar infrastructure, from stablecoin liquidity pools to enterprise-level blockchain and Ethereum expansion. What these five tokens have in common is that they are each at different points in their development cycles, so in addition to betting on a single track, this combination can bring more diverse catalysts.

Raydium relies on Solana's DEX activity

Raydium remains one of the most active decentralized exchanges on Solana, and its automated market maker model remains at the heart of traders 'token redemption within the Solana ecosystem. The agreement recently expanded its LaunchLab platform to add support for restricted asset and newly quoted asset configurations, and aims to broaden the range of tokens that can be issued through the platform.

Daily agreement fees continue to flow into the repurchase program, a mechanism the team uses to manage the supply of tokens. Analysts following the project described market sentiment as cautiously optimistic, with the accumulation of whale positions offset by long-term price consolidation.

Ethena is built around the demand for synthetic dollars

Ethena has attracted attention because of its utility alternative rather than purely speculative tokens, mainly thanks to its synthetic dollar product USDe. The agreement has expanded integration with major lending and trading platforms this year, and its stablecoin supply continues to rise despite struggling price performance of the tokens themselves. A well-known investor buy earlier this month adds to the narrative: Smart Money views Ethena as a fundamentals driven investment based on real agreement revenue rather than short-term hotspots. A planned token unlock added new supply to the market in early August, and traders are weighing it against the platform's growing adoption metrics.

Curve and VeChain present very different stories

Curve DAO Token remains closely linked to its role as the core liquidity venue for stablecoins in decentralized finance, and its governance token has seen several sharp technical moves this month related to chart breakthroughs rather than based on new announcements. The deal's cash pool has recently been diversified into a new reserve asset, a move seen as a vote of confidence from cooperation projects. At the same time, VeChain continues to position itself around enterprise-level supply chain tracking and sustainability data, and in July launched an AI proxy framework that aims to expand its real-world use cases. These two tokens demonstrate that even in the same market cycle, DeFi infrastructure and enterprise-level blockchain projects can provide very different catalysts.

Optimism rides on the Layer-2 narrative

Optimism continues to expand its Superchain ecosystem, and its OP Stack technology remains the foundation of multiple Layer-2 networks, although some projects have chosen to migrate away. The Optimism Foundation launched a new governance season this month, introducing an expanded voting mechanism aimed at increasing decentralization. Under the token repurchase program linked to sorter revenue approved earlier this year, the program is still running in the background as part of the network's broader tokenics strategy.
