ZEC Zcash surged 23% in a single day: Driven by the dual benefits of Fed policy and community governance
After the Federal Reserve's latest policy decision and the decisive community governance vote were passed, Zcash (ZEC) performed better than the broader market, with a single-day gain of 23%, and the price hit about US$1,369.
Overall market reaction to Fed interest rate changes
The Fed raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, setting a target range of 3.75% to 4%. Jeff Ko, chief analyst at ViaBTC, pointed out that traders had largely expected the move and viewed it as a signal of gradual rather than aggressive monetary tightening. The Federal Reserve's latest forecast shows that its policy rate will remain at 4.1% in 2026 and 2027, which means there may be only one additional rate hike this year.
Affected by this, S & P 500 futures rose 0.6%, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.7%, showing optimism in the broader market. At the same time, Bitcoin rose less than 1% to about $76,258; Solana rose nearly 3% over the same period.
Zcash governance voted overwhelmingly
Zcash is a privacy-focused digital asset that allows users to hide their transaction details. The recent surge in ZEC prices coincides with the end of the online NU7 community governance vote. Nearly 2.4 million ZEC tokens participated in the voting, far exceeding the required 1 million ZEC participation threshold. Among the approximately 3.6 million eligible token pools, this participation represents an unusually high level of activity.
