Cryptocurrency market on August 26: BTC fell 1.08%, MON fell 11.76%

The cryptocurrency market entered a broad correction on August 26, with Bitcoin falling below US$79,000.

According to CoinMarketCap data, among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, Stacks (STX) became the strongest performing currency on the day.

At 10:30 am on August 26, Beijing time, CoinMarketCap data showed that Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.08% from the previous day to US$78,873.46; Ethereum (ETH) fell 1.57% to US$2,457.48.

XRP fell 4.27% to $1.44;Solana (SOL) fell 4.59% to $97.03. Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 5.17% to US$0.08653, while TRX (TRX) fell 2.78% to US$0.3362.

Avalanche (AVAX) fell 3.25% to $7.37. Worldcoin (WLD) fell 4.75% to $0.3899. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) was one of the few major currencies to gain, rising 1.79% to $0.05894.

Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, Stacks (STX) recorded its largest gain in 24 hours, soaring 15.92%. Monad (MON) recorded the largest decline, down 11.76%.

Among other altcoin markets, QUAI fell 1.38% to US$0.01134;ALEO edged up 0.21% to US$0.01723.

CoinMarketCap has also added two newly listed cryptocurrencies in the past 24 hours: Meeko (MEEKO) and Ethereum Cat (ECAT).
