XRP prices rose sharply on the eve of the final vote on the CLARITY bill
XRP prices rose significantly as the Senate final vote on the CLARITY bill (the Digital Assets Act that Explains U.S. Leadership) approached. Crypto analyst Zach Rector noted in an update Monday that the trend suggests a real-time "liquidity liquidation" is taking place and the Senate is preparing for the historic vote.
XRP tested back to US$1.33 on Sunday afternoon, and then the rally began. As of noon Pacific Time on Monday, its price had pushed up to $1.48. During the same period of time, Bitcoin also reached the $79,000 mark again.
Ongoing liquidity liquidation
Rector points out that $1.50 is a key immediate resistance level that investors need to pay close attention to. According to the liquidation heat map, if XRP hits this level, there will be more than US$2 billion in liquidation orders waiting to be triggered. Rector said that by the time he recorded the analysis video, the clearing order book for the region had been quickly filled, confirming the current liquidity clearing process.
Above $1.50, the next important clearing-intensive area lies between $1.70 and $1.80. If buying pressure persists, this range will be the next target area that market makers may target.
Critical support below is equally important
Rector also highlighted a major downside risk level. He pointed out that there is a huge liquidation level between $0.98 and $1.00. If XRP prices reverse and market makers push prices down further, the area will contain a large number of clearing positions. Traders should pay close attention to this level, especially if Tuesday's vote results are disappointing.
The "buy expectations, sell facts" market resurfaces
Rector directly links price movements to the CLARITY Act's timetable. With less than 24 hours before the end of voting, he said,"The typical 'buy expectations, sell facts' market may be unfolding." This pattern is very common around expected catalyst events: prices rise in anticipation before the event occurs, and there is a correction after the event occurs regardless of the outcome.
A final vote on the CLARITY bill requires 60 Senate votes to move forward. The Republican Party currently holds 53 seats, so at least seven Democrats are needed to vote in favor. Recent reports suggest that between 7 and 10 Democrats are willing to support the legislation. Senator Cynthia Lummis released the final text on September 10, which contained 126 changes made at the request of Democrats. President Trump voluntarily agreed to new moral restrictions on all federal elected officials, judges and their spouses.
Key indicators focused on by Rector
