On September 24, SpaceX shares closed at $148.03 as Google added another artificial intelligence-related catalyst to its launch business. Google will use SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission to conduct its first orbital test of its "Project Suncatcher" project next week.

Google plans to send a prototype satellite equipped with a Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) into low-Earth orbit through the Transporter-18 mission. The mission, which will be carried out in partnership with Planet Labs, will test whether Google's artificial intelligence hardware can operate reliably in orbital conditions.
The satellite will measure the response of the TPU to launch impact, radiation and extreme temperatures in the space environment. In addition, Google will also test heat pipes and heat sinks because conventional air-flow cooling methods cannot work in a vacuum environment.
