Bitcoin hovers around US$84,800, and the influx of institutional funds drives net inflows into ETFs to US$225 million.

Bitcoin prices fell 1.6% after hitting a phased high of US$87,220 on October 3, and are currently at around US$84,800. The intraday low dropped to US$83,888, highlighting the continued volatility of the market and the narrow volatility pattern that has developed in the past few weeks.

Resistance is firm, bearish targets emerge

Market participants are closely watching Bitcoin's performance in the key resistance range of US$86,000 to US$87,000. Although buyers briefly pushed the price above $87,000, selling pressure quickly returned, causing the bulls to exhaust momentum and the price fell back to around $83,888 and was trapped within a narrow trading range.

Analyst Crypto with Haris holds a bearish view, pointing out that if the persistent resistance level cannot be effectively exceeded, Bitcoin may face a correction risk. The analyst listed $62,000 as a potential lower target and believed that if the current level of rejection continues, it could lead to further declines.

Crypto with Haris emphasized: "US$86,000 to US$87,000 constitutes an extremely strong resistance level, and Bitcoin has tried repeatedly to break through but failed. If this continues, prices could fall to around $62,000, nearly $22,700 below current levels."

An important trend line remains crucial for traders, and the market is watching to see if it can gain support above $83,000. Once this support level is broken, downside volatility may intensify. At present, both long and short views coexist, putting the market in uncertainty.

Horizontal consolidation and liquidation are intertwined, with institutional buying providing support

Recent transactions show that Bitcoin's price fluctuations are limited to $4,000, with support at $83,000 and resistance just below $87,000. While bears highlighted ongoing risks, some bulls found reason for optimism from stable institutional purchases.

As the volatile market continues, market clearing events have increased. Despite the turmoil, optimistic traders point to institutional accumulation as a potential catalyst for breaking the deadlock and triggering a breakthrough.

Institutional investors have shown significant influence. In one day alone, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) attracted $195.6 million in inflows, while Fidelity's ETF clients also contributed $29.28 million.

The inflow of funds from these ETFs has sparked speculation that large buyers could eventually spark a sustainable rally, although short-term sentiment remains cautious.

Macroeconomic data shakes market sentiment

Broader macro news has further increased market uncertainty. Earlier this week, Bitcoin fell to a low of $82,600 before quickly recovering. The U.S. core personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index-a highly watched indicator by the market-fell below expectations, while the Labor Market Immediate Vacancy and Recruitment Survey (JOLTS) report showed weakening labor demand.

Markets 'focus quickly turned to September's U.S. employment data. Non-agricultural employment increased by only 29,000, far below the market consensus forecast of 90,000. Unemployment climbed to 4.2%, and wage growth slowed, reducing expectations for further Fed rate hikes.

Bitcoin briefly surged to US$87,100 after the release of non-agricultural data, but quickly retreated, and as the impact subsided, the price stabilized again at around US$84,500. The reduction in expectations of interest rate cuts has not translated into continued upward momentum for bitcoin prices.

Volatility in U.S. Treasury yields, US dollar index, crude oil prices and continued inflation risks continue to affect the trend of Bitcoin. Analysts expect that Bitcoin's next move will be closely related to changes in macroeconomic conditions.
