The cryptocurrency market suffered widespread selling, with Bitcoin falling below the US$83,000 mark

Under widespread selling pressure in major cryptocurrency markets, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) fell below US$83,000, and Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP) both fell. Solana (SOL) fell 5.0%, while Zcash (ZEC), Dogecoin (DOGE) and BNB also recorded losses, reflecting overall weakness in leading digital assets.

At the same time, Hood Sword Inu (HOODINU) surged 346.9%, Origin Token (OGN) rose 96.9%, and Starknet (STRK) also achieved significant price growth.

Mainstream assets were under pressure, led by Solana

As Bitcoin fell below US$83,000, Ethereum, Ripple and Solana faced heavier selling pressure. The correction affected several leading digital assets, with Solana being one of the major cryptocurrencies with the largest declines.

According to CoinGecko data, in the past 24 hours, Bitcoin fell 0.6% to US$82,446.99, with transaction volume reaching US$40.73 billion. Although trading at less than $83,000, Bitcoin still maintains a market value of $1.65 trillion.

Ethereum's decline was even more pronounced, falling 3.0% to US$2,494.28, with daily trading volume reaching US$18.40 billion. Ripple fell 1.8%, trading at US$1.40, with a market value of approximately US$88.25 billion.

Solana suffered a larger loss, falling 5.0% to $110.54 and trading volume reached $5.03 billion, making it one of the hardest-hit major digital assets during the trading session. BNB fell 3.8% to US$742.90, reducing its market value to approximately US$98.92 billion; Dogecoin fell 4.2% to US$0.08539, with trading volume reaching US$1.10 billion.

Zcash's performance was also sluggish, falling 6.0% to US$1,221.36, with trading volume reaching US$1.56 billion. Hyperliquid (HYPE) fell 2.9% to $85.62, with a market cap of approximately $19.04 billion. TRON (TRX) was not spared, falling 1.2% to US$0.3321, with daily trading volume of just US$371.84 million, reflecting generally weak market conditions for major cryptocurrencies.

Small-cap tokens rise against the trend

Although mainstream cryptocurrencies suffered widespread losses, some smaller tokens recorded significant gains, indicating divergence in price movements within the market. Hood Sword Inu (HOODINU) led the gains, surging 346.9% to $0.04917, with trading volume reaching $10.3 million. Origin Token (OGN) followed closely, rising 96.9% to US$0.04463, with trading volume of approximately US$285.78 million.

In other respects, Janction (JCT) rose 46.7% to $0.002316 and ELYSIA (EL) rose 46.6% to $0.002369. Starknet (STRK) also reported substantial growth, climbing 40.4% to $0.06896, with trading volume reaching $394.14 million. Also, iExec RLC (RLC) rose 28.7% to $0.8763 and Talus (US) rose 27.9% to $0.01949.

This contrasting performance suggests that despite the general decline in major digital assets, gains are still concentrated in a small number of selected small cryptocurrencies. Overall, Bitcoin remained below $83,000, accompanied by widespread losses in Ethereum, Ripple, Solana and other leading cryptocurrencies.
