Instead, liquidity is concentrated within a narrow range, and if the catalyst triggers directional movement, the risk of a surge in volatility increases.
Despite this accumulation, the XRP's Relative Strength Index (RSI) remains effectively neutral at 44, indicating a lack of strong long or short momentum. The current environment exposes many leveraged traders to the risk of rapid liquidations, as small movements within the range can trigger stop-loss orders for both long and short positions.
Any attempt to push XRP below the key support area of US$1.30 - 1.34 will quickly trigger aggressive buying and lead to the liquidation of short positions; while long breakthroughs above US$1.50 are consistently blocked by a large number of reverse orders, often causing losses to buyers.
Volatility and Traders Dilemma
The continued squeeze in the Bollinger Band signals that traders are facing a difficult period, with price volatility steadily declining. Whether short-term or long-term positions are difficult to make profits because liquidity responds quickly to small market movements.
XRP's chart currently reflects a market state that punishes both bulls and bears equally for excesses. Analysts pointed out that until major events change the balance, the asset could remain in its current range, becoming a battleground for hunting stop-loss orders and frustrating long-term investors.
According to market observers, a major catalyst is needed to break this technical deadlock. Prior to this, high open interest and low volatility created a sense of uncertainty for investors seeking directional momentum.
