BTC REX launches a 2-times leverage ETF tied to Strive
According to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), REX has launched a 2-times leverage exchange-traded fund (ETF) tied to Strive. The product is designed to provide amplified exposure to Strive shares rather than directly holding Bitcoin. This difference has a significant impact on both potential earnings and downside risks.
The leveraged ETF linked to Bitcoin Treasury Corporation
documents show that REX is the initiator of the fund. The product is structured to provide a return of twice the daily performance of its benchmark index, which is pegged to Strive. Strive's investment positioning revolves around accumulating and holding Bitcoin on the company's balance sheet, making it part of the growing group of Bitcoin treasury companies.
The ETF does not directly hold Bitcoin. Instead, it tracks the stock of a company whose value is partially tied to the price of Bitcoin. This means investors are facing Strive's corporate operations, balance sheet decisions and market sentiment, rather than spot bitcoin. This distinction is crucial because during periods of macro-driven volatility, bitcoin-sensitive stock movements may deviate from bitcoin prices, amplifying or suppressing returns in a different way than direct crypto asset positions.
Impact of 2 times leverage on Strive exposure
