Tokyo, Japan, October 6, 2026

This landmark issuance introduces yen-denominated stablecoin payments into the real-world corporate finance sector, with interest and principal redemption settled in Japanese Yen (JPY). Startale Japan today announced the launch of "Startale Bond", Japan's first digital corporate bond to pay interest and redeem principal in a yen-denominated trust-type stablecoin. In short, the company's bonds are paid to bondholders in yen stablecoins over their life cycle, rather than through traditional payment channels.

This issuance will directly include the yen-denominated trust-type stable currency JPYSC issued by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank into corporate financing transactions. Planned interest payments and final principal redemption will be made in JPYSC, marking the first time such a structure has been used in Japanese digital corporate bonds. Startale Japan Co., Ltd. is the legal issuer of Startale Bond. The bond is limited to individual investors and companies in Japan and is not sold to overseas investors.

This issuance is a new application scenario for JPYSC in addition to blockchain transactions, bringing yen-denominated stablecoins into the established corporate financing structure. By using JPYSC for interest and principal redemption payments, Startale Japan demonstrated how stablecoin infrastructure can connect with traditional financial instruments and Japan's existing capital markets.

Startale Group Pte.

JPYSC was jointly developed by SBI Group and Startale Group. SBI Newborn Trust Bank issues JPYSC and manages the trust assets behind it, SBI VC Trade serves as the issuing trustee responsible for leadership and distribution, and Startale Group is responsible for supporting JPYSC's technology.

Startale Bond integrates these elements into corporate finance transactions for the first time, demonstrating how regulated yen stablecoins have surpassed digital asset markets and become part of the infrastructure that supports established financial instruments.
