Fairshake announced $6 million to support six House candidates for the 2026 midterm elections.
Fairshake's Political Action Committee (PAC) announced on October 5 that its initial spending budget is $6 million as part of a plan to support 32 incumbents in the 2026 midterm elections. The funds will be distributed equally among six candidates, each of whom will receive $1 million in campaign spending support, with three Republicans and three Democrats in the party distribution.
According to information released by the committee, the roster of 32 House candidates includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Fairshake pointed out that all 32 candidates had previously voted for the CLARITY Act (Digital Asset Market Clarity Act).
Initial funding list and party composition
On the Democratic side, the first candidates to receive $1 million in support came from Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Derek Tran of California, and Steven Horsford of Nevada. The nominations were determined by the Fairshake PAC, co-sponsored by Coinbase, Ripple Labs and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
On the Republican side, similar levels of support include French Hill of Arkansas, Bill Huizenga of Michigan and Bryan Steil of Wisconsin. Roll Call reported that all three Republican members hold senior positions in the House Financial Services Committee: Hill serves as chairman of the committee, Huisenga serves as vice chairman, and Steele leads the subcommittee responsible for digital assets, financial technology and artificial intelligence.
In addition to these six initial recipients, the full list released also includes multiple congressional leadership members. Among them are House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Republican Conference Chairman Lisa McClain, and Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar. Other incumbents supported include House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson, and Budget Committee Minority Member Brendan Boyle.
With the cryptocurrency policy stance as the core criterion
Fairshake spokesman Geoff Vetter said in explaining the selection criteria that the organization's campaign work is based on candidates 'positions on cryptocurrency policy and that support spans party lines. "Fairshake has always and always been an issue-oriented organization," he said."We support candidates in both parties who advocate encryption and promote innovation in the United States."
Brown represented Ohio for 18 years until losing to Republican Bernie Moreno in 2024. In that early election, the Fairshake Network reportedly spent more than $40 million to support Moreno against Brown. Brown served as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and expressed concerns about consumer risks involving digital assets, money laundering and illegal financial activity.
Update on total cryptocurrency election donations
Back in August, Witt had said Fairshake had $122 million in cash on hand and intended to help form "the largest pro-crypto faction in U.S. history." Detailed data from September 2 showed that after endorsing nearly 50 successful primary candidates, the network has $122 million in electoral reserves. The report pointed out that Protect Progress usually supports Democrats, while Defend American Jobs focuses on Republicans. In addition, reports also documented a failed intervention in Illinois that failed to prevent Lieutenant Gov. Juliana Stratton from winning the Democratic Senate nomination despite spending more than $10 million.
Public Citizen
