World Liberty Financial launches USD1 on Canton Network to support institutional clearing of tokenized real-world assets

World Liberty Financial has natively issued USD1 on Canton Network, introducing its U.S. dollar stablecoin into the infrastructure of regulated markets. The move allows institutions to use USD1 on the cash side of tokenized asset transactions and achieve atomic settlement while enjoying Canton's privacy and compliance controls. The issuance expands the availability of USD1 in various institutional financial activities.

USD1 adds U.S. dollar settlement capabilities to Canton Network

USD1 is issued by BitGo Bank & Trust, the National Association. Since its launch in March 2025, its circulation volume has exceeded US$4 billion. The stablecoin is fully backed by short-term U.S. Treasury bonds, government money market funds, U.S. dollar deposits and other cash equivalents.

On the Canton network, institutions can use USD1 for collateral, derivatives, lending and cross-border payments. The stablecoin can also support cross-market asset issuance, capital raising, redemption and financing. The value of tokenized assets issued or processed on Canton exceeds $9 trillion each month. At the same time, more than $350 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds flow through the network every day.

Institutions get new settlement options

According to World Liberty Financial, USD1 can be settled simultaneously with tokenized assets through atomic transactions. This setting allows the dollar side to be consistent with the privacy and compliance controls employed for these assets. Zak Folkman, co-founder and chief operating officer of World Liberty Financial, said the expansion of tokenized assets has outpaced the development of its U.S. dollar settlement infrastructure. Folkman pointed out that institutions currently hold trillions of dollars in tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds and government debt, but there is still a time lag in settlement, which may lead to capital being occupied.

Eric Saraniecki, co-founder of Digital Asset, said that more stablecoin options provide greater flexibility for institutions. He added that USD1 expands the options available for fundraising and settlement in the Canton app. Canton operates as a public, permission-free blockchain, and each application defines its own privacy, permissions and governance rules. Only relevant transaction participants can view and verify their respective information.

USD1 maintains full reserve support

BitGo is responsible for managing USD1 's reserve assets and handling its casting and redemption processes. The bank is federally regulated and has been authorized by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Reserve assets include short-term treasury bonds, government money market funds, US dollar deposits and other cash equivalents. BitGo also provides USD1 publishing and hosting infrastructure in supported networks.

World Liberty Financial stated that USD1 is now available as a U.S. dollar settlement option for institutions using Canton.
