Bitwise Research Analyst: XRP attracts the most attention among wealth management managers

Bitwise Research Analyst Ryan Rasmussen reported that in a recent demonstration focusing on digital assets and blockchain trends, XRP received the most attention from a group of approximately 400 wealth management managers. The event was held in partnership with Matt Hougan, chief investment officer of Bitwise, and covered topics such as Bitcoin, Solana, Hyperliquid, stablecoins and tokenization.

Institutional attention to XRP has increased significantly

Rasmussen pointed out that participants showed significant participation in XRP, indicating that professional investors 'interest in the token is increasing. He shared through his X account that XRP continued to raise the most questions throughout the conference, highlighting the wealth management industry's interest in its emerging landscape.

"XRP always attracted the most questions from the audience throughout the presentation, reflecting the strong attention from the professional investor community." Rasmussen said.

Institutional investors have also increased their exposure to XRP-based financial products. SoSoValue data showed that as of Tuesday, U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds had achieved net inflows for 11 consecutive trading days, with cumulative inflows of approximately US$170 million during the period, and have absorbed approximately US$1.68 billion since its launch in November.

Recent ETF data and major institutional positions

However, after continued inflows, this trend stopped on September 2, and the net outflow of U.S. spot XRP ETF on the day was approximately US$7.2 million. On the same day, net outflows from spot Bitcoin and Ethereum funds were approximately US$14.3 million and US$47.6 million respectively. Despite the brief setback, institutional interest remains significant.

Regulatory documents show that many major financial institutions hold considerable XRP positions. As of the end of the second quarter, Goldman Sachs reported the largest public position in XRP products, with an exposure of approximately $87.4 million. According to data quoted by Bloomberg, Jane Street and Millennium Management followed closely, with holdings of $16.6 million and $16.2 million respectively.

Expectations are rising but allocation remains cautious

Despite increasing institutional activity, most wealth management managers have not yet directly deployed cryptocurrencies. Rasmussen pointed out that of the approximately 400 professionals at the event, about 67% said there is currently no cryptocurrency allocation. Despite this caution, market sentiment seems to be shifting. About 60% of participants expected cryptocurrency prices to rise before the end of the year, and another 60% expressed their intention to allocate digital assets in the next 12 months.

In markets where a single decision by the Federal Reserve or the sudden launch of altcoins can change everything in an instant, investors are increasingly focusing on ways to efficiently monitor developments. Against the backdrop of continued inflows, rising institutional exposure, and growing interest among professional investors, XRP's role in institutional portfolios continues to evolve. Document disclosures from financial companies and inquiries from professional investors suggest that this interest will remain an area of concern.

Data from ETF flows and institutional documents clearly show that interest in XRP among large market participants continues despite a period of increased volatility in the crypto industry.
