Paxos adds XRP support for institutional trading and custody

Paxos includes XRP in institutional trading and custody platform

Paxos has added XRP to its cryptocurrency broker platform, allowing financial institutions using the infrastructure to trade, custody, deposit and withdraw the asset. The integration, completed on October 7, makes XRP accessible through the same broker stack where Paxos provides encryption services to banks, brokerages and fintech companies. Currently, XRP Ledger's transactions are fully supported on the Paxos platform, including native deposit and withdrawal functions.

Partners can integrate XRP without building a separate hosting and execution infrastructure. Paxos handles underlying services such as custody, transaction execution and settlement, while participating companies control customer-facing products and decide which supporting assets to open up. According to data at the time of the news release, XRP holdings are distributed in more than 8.1 million wallets, and its market value is close to US$95 billion.

XRP joins Paxos 'expanding brokerage stack

In 2026, Paxos accelerates the enrichment of the asset categories available through the Crypto Brokerage platform. As early as June, the company had expanded its support to 29 cryptocurrencies and said it was working to cover most of the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. The platform integrates trading, custody and settlement into a single institutional integrated interface, and its order routing system also aggregates liquidity from multiple trading venues rather than relying on a single exchange for execution.

Financial platforms such as PayPal, Venmo, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab and Mercado Libre have all used Paxos infrastructure. It should be noted that the existing partnership between these platforms and Paxos does not mean that they have automatically launched XRP trading services for customers. Each partner controls the type and timing of enabling supporting assets.

Since completing the federal charter conversion in December 2025, Paxos has been operating as a national trust bank supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which provides a federally supervised custody framework for its digital asset infrastructure.

Ripple further delves into institutional finance

This integration of Paxos comes as Ripple continues to expand its institutional infrastructure around XRP, RLUSD and XRP Ledger. Recently, Ripple Prime has expanded its partnership with Brevan Howard to provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to funds managed by global investment funds.

Ripple's institutional financing business has gone beyond mere crypto spot execution. In August, Ripple Prime launched the Delta One platform, which supports full-income swaps for U.S. -listed stocks, indices and digital assets, and adds financing and cross-margin features traditionally handled by large prime brokers. In addition, Ripple has also increased the size of the business's balance sheet, with the $200 million financing line it received in May aimed at expanding its ability to lend to institutional customers in traditional and digital markets.
