Daily averages tell a different story. Cardano's average daily TPS is 3.78 tx/s, which Chainspect points out is equivalent to an increase of 855.57%. A single fast block does not mean that every block on the network is running at such a fast speed. It shows that the network can handle sudden surges in activity when needed.

Why did Cardano prices fall today?

A post from the Cardano Foundation explains some of the reasons for market sentiment. Veridian is a digital identity project that the foundation spent three years building and is now an independent company. Thomas A. Mayfield serves as its CEO, and Veridian itself confirms that it was originally launched within the foundation and has now been spun off.

Veridian said it will continue to work with Cardano, but it is no longer directly within the foundation's structure. For communities concerned about ADA prices, the flagship project's departure from the foundation's direct control is seen as a reduction in the factor that connects real-world use more closely to ADA tokens. Such news often suppresses market sentiment, even if there is no direct trigger for a crash.

Why did Midnight fall more than Cardano?

Charles Hoskinson has been promoting Midnight, Cardano's privacy-focused sister project with the NIGHT token at its core. Today, NIGHT's trading price was US$0.04575, down 7.7%, with a market value of US$757.603 million, and the 24-hour trading volume was only US$19.677 million, a steeper decline than ADA.

This change follows an announcement from Midnight CTO Sebastien Guillemot. NIGHT is bringing private DeFi to Solana Wallet, allowing users to make private redemption and use private DeFi tools directly from Solana Wallet. Backpack and Nightly Wallet are now testing support for this feature online, and the main network plans to launch it later this year.

Linking the token roadmap associated with Cardano to Solana Wallet support seems to make some holders uneasy rather than reassured.
