Tectonic attackers transferred 2,659 ETH to Tornado Cash
Wallets associated with the Tectonic attack have transferred 2,659 ETH to sanctioned Ethereum mixer Tornado Cash, a move that significantly reduces the space to track and recover stolen funds.
The attacker linked the wallet to transfer ETH to a currency mixer
The on-chain monitoring system has marked the transfer, and blockchain security tracking agency DeFiSecurity reported that Tectonic attackers have deposited ETH in Tornado Cash. The activity can be traced back through the marked address on Etherscan, and relevant transfer-out records have been archived.
A representative transaction of the wallet can be viewed on the Ethereum blockchain browser, which displays the sender's address and timestamp, allowing readers to directly verify the flow of funds rather than relying on second-hand summaries.

Why Tornado Cash deposits make recovery more difficult
Tornado Cash mixes deposits, cutting off the chain link between the source address and the withdrawal address-which is why money mixer deposits are a critical detail: Once funds enter the agreement, simple wallet-to-wallet tracking cannot continue. Privacy-focused tools such as currency mixers to privacy coins (such as the Zcash price trend mentioned in recent reports) have always been common obstacles investigators face when tracing stolen cryptocurrencies.
The transfer occurred after the Tectonic attack, which TRM Labs recorded as a price manipulation attack, and was also analyzed by Bitquery's investigation. This report does not independently confirm the total amount stolen or the identity of the attacker, but only explains it based on the wallet address marked by the on-chain tracker.
Confirmed and unconfirmed information
Confirmed: According to the on-chain tracker and the above block browser records, the wallet belonging to a Tectonic attacker has transferred ETH to Tornado Cash. This report does not confirm the true identity of the attacker, the total amount of the loss, and whether some of the funds can still be frozen or recovered.
For Tectonic users and the wider DeFi community, the current concern is about confidence rather than quantified new losses-as money mixer deposits suggest that attackers are preparing to hide and potentially cash in on proceeds rather than negotiating refunds.
Next chain trends to pay attention to
Analysts will monitor whether cash mixes appear at deposit addresses on centralized exchanges, when compliance controls may be frozen; and whether funds are spread across multiple wallets to make clustering more difficult. Any subsequent changes to the marked address, or the release of bounty or negotiation information on the chain, will be the next clear signal-although there is currently no such confirmation.
