XRP Wealth List Exposed: Real Data Behind the Largest Holders

Financial Coach Kamil H. Stevenson A new post posted by Stevenson on the X platform focuses on the distribution of XRP's positions on the XRP ledger. The post directed followers to watch a video that analyzed the number of XRPs needed to reach different ownership levels, while also questioning whether the largest wallets really represent individual investors.

20 XRPs can rank among the top 50% holders

Stevenson shared the video of "Bull Runners" with the title "XRP Fortune List Exposed!", Viewers were asked to look at the data behind the largest XRP holders, including who was accumulating and who was holding.

According to the video content, as of August 20, 2026, owning 20 XRPs is enough to place the account in the top 50% of XRP holders. The video points out that accounts holding 21 XRPs have more than 4 million wallets.

The video attributed the existence of a large number of small accounts in part to changes in XRP ledger reserve requirements. It claims that the validator approved a reduction in the base reserve from 10 XRP to 1 XRP in December 2024. The owner reserve of ledger objects also dropped from 2 XRP to 0.2 XRP.

It is believed that lower reserve requirements significantly reduce the cost of opening and maintaining XRP ledger accounts. As a result, the number of capital accounts has increased, but this does not necessarily mean a corresponding increase in the number of XRP investors committing to invest.

The video states that as of August 20, there were 8,071,889 fund accounts on the XRP ledger, compared with approximately 7.7 million in March. As a result, it is estimated that approximately 400,000 new fund accounts were created within five months.

XRP ownership threshold rises rapidly

The video sets the threshold for the top 10% at approximately 2,138 XRPs, while the top 5% requires 7,745 to 8,000 XRPs. Subsequently, it set the 1% threshold before August 20 at 44,823 XRPs.

For the top 0.1%, the video cited data of approximately 295,194 XRPs, and it is estimated that only approximately 7,554 wallets have reached this level.

Bull Runners then made an important distinction between the largest XRP wallets. The video claims that fewer than 800 wallets represent the top 0.01%, but believes that these addresses should not automatically be interpreted as wealthy individuals. According to the presentation, many of these wallets belong to exchanges, institutional custodians or Ripple.

Large wallets do not always reveal investor intentions

The video warns that blockchain data shows transactions, but does not necessarily reveal why funds are moving. The exchange wallet receiving the XRP may indicate the deposit a customer is ready to sell, and the custodian moving assets may simply reorganize the customer's funds.

The video also takes custody transactions as an example, pointing out that large capital flows do not necessarily represent an individual's decision to buy or sell XRP.

Therefore, when evaluating large private holders, Bull Runners views approximately 7,500 wallets in the top 0.1% as a more relevant group.

The video also connects XRP ownership data to developments on the XRP ledger, including the growth of RLUSD activity and the introduction of new ledger capabilities. Finally, the video encourages viewers to compare the XRP they hold with publicly available distribution data.
