Mesh Ships Unified Wallet SDK for Cardano and Bitcoin

Mesh SDK has released a unified wallet SDK for production environments that supports both $ADA (Cardano) and $BTC (Bitcoin) through a single interface. This move is expected to significantly reduce the development cost and complexity of developers when building applications on dual-chain networks.

Core Functions and Technology Implementation

This SDK integrates Headless Wallets, core wallet modules, and transaction signature functions for both chains. On the Cardano side, the SDK supports the CIP-30 standard, the wallet connector standard that defines the dApp development connection protocol and API. For Bitcoin, the SDK connects to Xverse and other Bitcoin browser extensions through the unified Sats Connect API.

Currently, this software package is available for download through npm.

Catalyst Project Funding Background

This project was completed with funding from the Catalyst Fund 14. The Mesh team received funding support with a budget of 100,000 ADA through the Catalyst Fund 14 proposal. To date, four of the five milestones have been approved as proof of achievement, with a cumulative release of 76,000 ADAs.

Open Source Licensing and Developer Ecosystem

This toolkit provides developers with a unified interface covering dual chains, a headless wallet, a CIP-30-compatible toolset, and equivalent Bitcoin basics for address and script processing. The entire project is fully open source under the Apache 2.0 license, and relevant documentation has also been released simultaneously.

Mesh is an open source and production-ready TypeScript SDK for Cardano blockchain development. This increase in support for Bitcoin marks a significant expansion in its functional range. For teams that are already using Mesh for development on Cardano, this update means that Bitcoin integration can be achieved without introducing a separate tool chain.

The availability of the SDK on npm and its open source licensing model further lowers the threshold for teams to explore or deploy cross-chain wallet capabilities in production environments.
