ETH 查尔斯·霍斯金森：加密货币将“吞噬”人工智能，数据中心热潮或将走向泡沫
Cardano 创始人查尔斯·霍斯金森（Charles Hoskinson）表示，加密货币行业即将对人工智能（AI）做出一番事业，正如它曾经对密码学所做的那样。他认为，当前支撑人工智能数据中心的巨额投资热潮正面临崩盘的风险。
在9月16日播出的《Deeptech Insights》播客节目中，霍斯金森指出，随着基础设施建设的繁荣遭遇经济瓶颈，区块链技术可以为 AI 提供支付通道、数据所有权、溯源机制以及分布式计算能力作为底层基础设施。
为何霍斯金森认为加密货币将主导 AI 领域
霍斯金森表示，每年在数据中心上的支出增加十倍是不可持续的，因为现有的电力供应无法支撑这种扩张速度。此外，OpenAI 和 Anthropic 等公司也需要实现规模化盈利，他说，模型预训练阶段带来了巨大的财务压力。
他将 AI 当前的处境与他初入行业时的密码学领域进行了比较。当时，许多密码学家反对与加密货币产生关联，但随着加密货币积累了足够的资金并聘请到顶尖的密码学家，这种立场最终发生了转变。他预计，人工智能领域将在未来五到十年内走上同样的道路。
“加密货币将‘吞噬’人工智能，因为我们解决了 AI 无法解决的难题。”霍斯金森说道。这些难题主要包括支付系统、对齐问题（Alignment）以及数据溯源。
关于“对齐”问题，他的观点是，区块链能够在参与者之间建立共享的规则体系，而目前的人工智能公司则各自决定言论自由和可接受行为标准等问题。在他看来，基于区块链的系统可以提供一套共享的规则机制，而不是将这些权力留个个别公司独断。
此外，区块链还可以追踪数据的创建者及其流转过程，为知识产权建立记录，并在人工智能系统使用他人作品时实现自动化版税分配。
Input Output 首席执行官还提出了将普通手机和 GPU 整合起来作为训练资源的想法，认为这比完全新建数据中心更为优越。他将此比作20世纪90年代末的光纤网络建设，当时铺设在全国范围内的约90%的光缆在近十年里都处于闲置状态，直到需求才逐渐跟上。他预计数据中心领域也会出现类似情况：目前是过度建设阶段，随后将转向运行在个人硬件上的小型本地模型，例如 Apple M5 Mac Studio。
霍斯金森论证道，如果前沿 AI 越来越多地依赖于由小型机器组成的网络，而非集中式的数据中心，那么“加密货币是唯一能够协调这一过程的现有技术。”
Hoskinson predicts that the regulatory environment will shift in 2029
In the podcast, Hoskinson also predicted that the CLARITY Act will not be passed by Congress until 2029. He attributed the reason to three mistakes made by the Trump administration: bundling the image of cryptocurrencies with Trump-branded tokens, and appointing an inexperienced "crypto commissioner" responsible for consensus-building.
He believes Democrats have no reason to compromise at this time because waiting for a House majority could give them stronger support for the bill in the future. This is consistent with what happened the day before the show aired. The U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act on September 15 because it did not reach the 60 votes needed to advance the bill.
This is not the first time Hoskinson has criticized the bill. Back in March, he called the earlier draft a "terrible piece of garbage" and believed the bill would default on classifying new projects as securities, although he said assets like Cardano and XRP could be grandfathered in (i.e., with acquired rights or exemptions).
