ETH Ethereum breaks the $2700 mark
This week, the price of Ethereum exceeded $2700. This rise is related to the combined transfer of two wallet addresses to ETH worth US$106 million in a short period of time. Buying on this scale is particularly prominent and unusual in the daily trading flow of the Ethereum network.
Unlike relying on corporate statements to support institutional needs, such on-chain activities can be verified directly through Etherscan, the official public block browser of Ethereum. The browser records every transaction and wallet balance on the Internet, and the data is open and transparent.
Such concentrated and large-scale purchases are often colloquially referred to as "whale activity," meaning that a wallet holds or moves an unusually large amount of assets relative to the size of a regular transaction. Since Ethereum's ledger is public, anyone can trace specific transfer records to specific wallet addresses and view their historical transaction records. However, the blockchain itself does not disclose the identity of the actual controller of the wallet. Unless it is known through other channels, the real subject behind it cannot be determined.
US$2700 is a key price point. In the past few months, Ethereum has crossed this level several times before falling back below. Because of this, this week's effective breakthrough of that price for the first time attracted widespread market attention, rather than data fluctuations that were seen as routine.
